Prior to correct weight rider Jordan Childs viewed the Stewards patrol film before deciding not to lodge an objection. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from approaching the 300m until near the 100m. Near the 150m shifted in and tightened Yulong Bao Ta. Near the 100m was obliged to steady off the heels of Equity Free when disappointed for a run and then shifted to the outside of Sebrings Joy to obtain clear running. Lost its off fore plate during the race. Equity Free - 2nd placegetter. Prior to correct weight rider Jason Benbow viewed the Stewards patrol film before deciding not to lodge an objection. Bumped near the 150m by Sebrings Joy. Payment Raced wide without cover and hung out prior to and rounding the home turn. Unshackled Slow to begin. Akasen Began awkwardly. Perfectionist - Began awkwardly and was then brushed by Payment which had shifted out on jumping away. Sebrings Joy Hung in under pressure in the home straight and near the 150m shifted in and made contact with Equity Free. Yulong Bao Ta Near the 150m was hampered when tightened for room by Kailua (Jordan Childs) which shifted in in an attempt to gain clear running. Jordan Childs was severely reprimanded and notified to ensure he straightens his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
Following this race the track was upgraded to Good 3 at 1:37pm. Race 2 hygain maiden plate - 975 metres: Win Alert Slow to begin. Passing the 100m became unbalanced when shifting to the inside of Miss Loren to obtain a clear run. Zen Mistress Slow to begin and them hampered shortly after the start by Miss Loren which shifted out. Miss Loren Shifted out shortly after the start. Bold Emperor Raced extremely wide without cover. Beau Victory Raced wide in the early stages. Magnus Rules Raced wide in the early stages. Rider Jason Benbow explained that in his opinion the mare may have not been suited to todays Good 3 track conditions. Alvilda Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Daffey Dux Laid out under pressure in the home straight, enabling Zen Mistress to obtain a run to its inside. Race 3 the bottle-o maiden plate - 1200 metres: Smokin Coni - Refused to load into the barriers. As a result the start of the race was delayed. Withdrawn by order of Stewards at 2.33pm. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. Antagonist 2 nd placegetter. Prior to correct weight rider John Allen viewed the Stewards patrol film before lodging an objection against Cosmic Song being declared the winner alleging interference near the 1100m. It was established that near the 1100m Antagonist was crowded for room and became unbalanced between Midnight Cowboy which had shifted out slightly and Cosmic Song which was taken in by Mallan No More. As the Stewards could not be satisfied that this incident was caused by Cosmic Song, the objection was dismissed and correct weight was declared. During this incident Midnight Cowboy, was brushed on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. Raced wide without cover throughout. Near the 1100m became unbalanced and lost ground when crowded for room between Midnight Cowboy and Cosmic Song which shifted in after being carried inwards by Mallan No More. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the winning post shifted in and brushed Cosmic Song. Midnight Cowboy Bumped heavily and became unbalanced near the 1100m. Hung in under pressure in the early part of the home straight. Zoomesday Over raced in the early and middle stages and got its head up. Vardy Over raced in the early and middle stages. Alla Turca Slow to begin, then lost ground when bumped heavily by Special Feeling, which shifted out. Special Feeling Hung out round the home turn and in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Cosmic Song Carried inward near the 1100m by Mallan No More, which shifted in. Brushed by Antagonist approaching the winning post. Musical Maneuver - Raced in a more forward position. Rider Holly McKechnie explained the gelding began extremely well and from the good draw found herself settling closer to the leaders than at recent starts. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Tahlia Hope - (Mallan No More) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a), the careless riding being that near the 1100m she permitted her mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of Cosmic Song thereby taking that gelding in onto Antagonist which as a result was crowded for room and became unbalanced between Midnight Cowboy and Cosmic Song. Tahlia Hopes permit to ride in races was suspended from midnight October 24, 2016 and to expire at midnight November 3, 2016. (12 meetings, 4 metropolitan, 8 provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the carelessness to be in the mid range, took into account Tahlia Hopes record, the circumstances surrounding the incident and a slight shift outwards from Midnight Cowboy. Race 4 tac plan now to get home later maiden plate - 1600 metres: Ziggys Jewel Struck its head in the tie up stalls and had blood present in one nostril. Withdrawn by Stewards at 2.24 pm acting on veterinary advice.
Turning Times Began awkwardly and lost ground. Top Of The Bunch Slow to begin. Got its head up when over racing near the 1400m when being restrained off the heels of Gwillym. Continued to over race in the middle stages. Coolaminyah Kid Got its head up and shifted out when making the turn near the 1400m. Rider Jason Benbow reported the gelding hung out throughout. Gwillym Tightened for room near the 1400m by Try Pink, which shifted in momentarily. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. Try Pink Over raced in the early and middle stages, getting its head up on several occasions when being restrained. Turning Times Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. Al Clasico Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. Race 5 ladbrokes bm58 handicap - 1600 metres: Our Swagman After being caught wide early was permitted to stride forward by its rider to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1200m. Over raced in the middle stages. Corporate Takeover Over raced near the 1400m and was obliged to be steadied to avoid the heels of Tia Dalma. Hung in under pressure in the home straight and proved difficult for Linda Meech to ride out in her normal manner. As a result of hanging in, from the home turn until approaching the 200m was held up and unable to obtain clear running. Typhoon Tyson Held up prior to the home turn and then again held up from near the 100m until the winning post behind Our Swagman which was giving ground. Post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from mild heat stress. Gold Cufflinks Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Crediton (NZ) Performed below market expectations. Rider Chris Parnham explained in his opinion the gelding may have not been suited by its handicapped weight of 61.5kgs. Neona Over raced in the middle stages. Race 6 swan hill bus lines bm64 handicap - 975 metres: Second Option Slow to begin. Kabrocco Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with the inside starting gate. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Piccolo Miss Began awkwardly. Imperial Empress Began awkwardly and was then hampered by Not A Blemish which shifted out. Improved performance. Trainer Mr Shea Eden explained that the mare was first up from a spell and was suited to todays Good 3 track conditions as compared to the slow track ratings of previous starts. Mr Barker Raced wide without cover. Viva La Dance Raced wide without cover. Check Our Enemy Held up for a run from the entrance to the straight until approaching the 200m. Again held up from approaching the 100m. Obliged to shift out and did not obtain clear running until over the concluding stages. Spirit of Dekay Hung in under pressure in the home straight and when hanging in was obliged to be steadied off the heels of Kabrocco passing the 200m. Alaska Held up for clear running for some distance approaching the 200m. Passing the 150m was checked when crowded for room by Captain Crackerjack (Leticia Griffin), which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Following this incident Alaska went to the line held up and not fully tested. Leticia Griffin - (Captain Crackerjack) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that passing the 150m she permitted her mount to shift in whilst riding it along when not sufficiently clear of Alaska resulting in that gelding being checked and losing its rightful running. Leticia Griffins permit to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence at midnight October 22, 2016 and to expire at midnight October 30, 2016. (10 meetings, 2 metropolitan, 8 provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the carelessness to be in the mid-range and took into account Leticia Griffins guilty plea, inexperience and previously unblemished record. Race 7 pooles accountants bm64 handicap - 1200 metres: Lots Of Smacks Began awkwardly and was then crowded for room between Burrums Buzz which shifted out and Our Boy Charlie. As a result was steadied and lost ground (2L). Relentless Raced wide without cover. Comic Miss (NZ) Slow to muster early speed and lost ground. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Burrums Buzz Over raced in the early and middle stages. Our Sevira Rider Liam Riordan was severely reprimanded for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m.
Turfin Around - Raced in a more forward position. Rider Jason Benbow explained that the gelding which was first up from a spell today began well and was inclined to race keenly early. As a result the gelding settled further forward than its normal pattern. Race 8 murray downs golf club & country club bm58 handicap - 1200 metres: Petracca - Acting on a report from the RV Veterinary Department which notified Stewards on race morning that a veterinary clearance had been required for Petracca subsequent to its previous start and that not all criteria in that clearance had been addressed, Stewards ordered withdrawal of the gelding at 1.23pm. Stewards will make enquiries with the stable and the Veterinary Department as to whether the requirements to return to racing had been fully notified to the stable. Green Hornet (NZ) Began awkwardly and lost ground (2 L). Financial Burden Began awkwardly and then was crowded at the start. Create A Stir Bounded on jumping away and lost ground. Jarklin Slow to begin. After being caught extremely wide early was permitted to stride forward by its rider. What A Hoot (NZ) Began awkwardly and shortly after the start was hampered when tightened for room between Financial Burden and Timely Truce. Rider Liam Riordan was fined $200 for using his whip on eleven occasions prior to the 100m. Timely Truce Shortly after the start was bumped heavily by What A Hoot (NZ) then shifted out and was checked to avoid the heels of True Justice. True Justice Near the 1000m was brushed by Jarklin which shifted in marginally and then knuckled and dipped. As a result lost ground. Rider Craig Robertson stated that after being bumped near the 100m and dipping his mount was reluctant to race and for this reason he elected to ease it down in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with Trainer Mr Con Kelly in the coming days regarding the performance of the mare. The Big Labrownski Passing the 200m was disappointed for a run between Our Henrietta and Jarklin. As a result was steadied and taken to the outside of Our Henrietta to obtain clear running. Rider Georgina Cartwright was harmlessly dislodged on pulling up and was subsequently cleared of any injuries by the RV Doctor.
