Invitation The Boxing Federation of Armenia and the Organizing Committee kindly invites you to participate in the World Junior Championships to be held in Yerevan Armenia, between 23-30 May 2009. We are proud and pleased to host an event of the highest level in Yerevan, Armenia. We hope to contribute to the development of boxing around the world and provide a new experience to the participants. Yerevan is the capital of the Armenian Republic and is situated in the north-eastern part of Ararat valley, on the foot of Ararat Mountain. The name of the city comes from the city-fortress Erebuni, which was built in the 8 th century BC by the Urartian king Arghisti. It is known as the capital of Armenia from the 14 th century AD. Yerevan is a cultural and industrial centre. The Championships will take place in the Sports and Concert Complex named after Karen Demirchyan. Competition Format: 3 rounds of 2 minutes, 1 minute rest between rounds 8. Judges / Referees All the teams may bring one level R/J whose number shall not be included in the team delegation number. 9. Participating Teams: A. Boxers: All affiliated associations in good standing are eligible to nominate ONE Junior boxer (age 15 to 16) in each the 13 weight categories. One reserve per weight category may be entered in the final entry form. Only reserve athletes that have been entered are allowed as replacements.on the day of the general weigh-in B. Number of Team Officials: Each team can send the following number of officials in their delegation: 1-2 boxer 1 official 3 to 5 boxers 1 coach and 1official 6 to 9 boxers 2 coaches and 1official 10 to13 boxers 3 coaches and 1 official 4
In addition, each team may be accompanied by one team doctor, whose numbers shall not be included in the team delegation number. 10. Boxing Equipment: The Organizing Committee will provide boxing gloves, headguards and hand bandages to all boxers for all bouts. Boxers may bring their own headguards.however, these must be manufactured by one of the equipment licensees. 11. Transportation A. Airport All the delegates will be welcomed at Zvartnots International Airport. B. International Transportation Round trip transportation to and from Yerevan city shall be the responsibility of the participating teams. C. Local Transportation LOC will provide the transportation between Zvartnots International Airport, host hotels and competition /training site. 12. Financial Conditions: A. Team Delegations: Accommodation: The stay of all official delegations will be arranged by the Organizing Committee at a cost of: US$ 70 per person, per day, in single occupancy, including three meals US$ 50 per person, per day, in double occupancy, including three meals All Referees and Judges will be accommodated in single occupancy rooms at the rate of US$50 per person per day. All the participants are required to pay for their accommodation charges before or upon their arrival at the Host Hotel. Early arrival or late departure teams shall pay USD$90 per person per day for single rooms and USD$80 per person per day for double occupancy. All teams are requested to provide their own travel and medical insurance. 5
B.Extra Guests: Each of the extra guests will have a cost of: US$90 per person, per day in single occupancy, including the three meals. US$80 per person, per day, in double occupancy, including the three meals. The acceptance of extra guests will be subject to availability of rooms,provided these are reserved with the Organizing Committee on the same date as the closing of final entries. According Law of Armenia every person who departs from Armenia should pay Air Tax, approximately US$35. 13.Hotels: A. 14.Medical Care: The organizing committee will provide Medical care and first-aid for all participants who sustain sport injury during the entire event. 15.Doping Control: Doping control shall be conducted in accordance with Rules and following the World Anti-Doping Code under the supervision of the Doping Control Delegate. 16.Medals: Gold, Silver and 2 (two) Bronze Medals will be awarded along with diplomas to the winners in each weight category. 17.Training Facility: The Organizing Committee will provide required training facilities (this information will be provided upon arrival). 18.Requirements: 19. Visa All boxers must bring along with them: o Record book with annual medicals duly completed. o Passport. o Singlets as per rules(national colours are permitted) Each National Federation Team must bring o 2 National/Regional Flags 1x 1.50 m o 1 National/Regional Anthem (on MP3, CD or Cassette Tape) A. The below mentioned countries should apply for entry visas in the nearest Consulate of Republic of Armenia for their entry. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, China(except for Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao), Egypt, India, Iraq, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Vietnam Boxing Federation of Armenia will send formal invitation for entry visas. Citizens of all other states will draw up their entry visas upon arrival in Yerevan airport «Zvartnots» at cost 50US$ 7
