Meeting on March 26 to discuss intentions for fund raising and donations to the new community sailing center. A blast went out to all of the Blue Gavel (prior Commodores) members. 2. Book Club Carol Allen 1. The Book Club meeting for April 11 will be at the Boathouse from 7-9 pm; Sunset, wine and munchies before we talk about the book The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick. 2. You can always learn more about the books we are reading by going to the DBC website and clicking on the Book List dropdown menu. 3. A huge thank you to Sharon Grimshaw who will be taking over the Book Club portion of the website, posting, and being the Book Club s vice chair, our Crystal Beach Vice. Had a good cruise this past weekend to Mandalay Bay. 6 boats, 18 people went to dinner at the Palm Pavillion. Sexy Shamrocks were provided by the Shellenbergers 2. The last weekend in April will be a cruise to Gulfport. Check out the website. Group dinner will be at an historic peninsula Inn. Randy Morgan sponsoring. There will be a limited amount of space. 1. Audit is this month, David Germain and Scott Barnes spent a lot of time on the audit. The Board looks after the financial status of the club. The audit is the report card for our Purser, Jack Mallard who has done a tremendous job for 13-14 years. 11. Fishing - Norm Whitten 1. The fish are out there. Coming up is summer fishing. Plenty of trout, Spanish mackerel. To get the big ones you have to go early, daybreak. Can get little all the trout you want. Little black sea bass near the rock piles; you can keep 50 pounds. Keep all fish on ice, throw salt water in with the ice, will keep it colder. 12. Historian - Peter Kyres 1. 13. Marina Advisory - Harold Schomaker 1. Today there was a meeting. Dock A repair is being held off until the sediment removing. Still no date. City in negotiation with the Clearwater Ferry boat. A catamaran charter will also be on the dock they are building. 14. Hope everyone had a good time at tonight s Happy Hour, which we had in lieu of our traditional St. Patrick s Day dinner. 2. This Saturday we have a Scotch Whiskey tasting Saturday at 6:30. Raffle ticket for $10 for a very special bottle of whiskey. Dress in your best spring outfit for prizes. Presentation on Scotland and whiskey. A dram occasion. Sample the taste, hear the history, a severe taste of whiskeys, tour of where the whiskeys came from. Bring an appetizer. Leftover been from tonight will be there too. 3. The next party is April 14, which is the Dock Party at 6:00 in the Marina. We go to the different docks and will visit the different boats in our club. After that, we have a party in the parking lot. Bring an appetizer to share. 4. Dave Becker will host the Island Party again this year. 5. Chris Gattas will host the pig roast in July. 6. We will need someone to organize the Boat Parade in December. 19. Sunshine - Pat Higgins 1. All is well. 20. Website - George Schott 1. Newsletters are being published under the Newsletter menu item. Selecting Past Newsletters on the menu will get you links to all the previous Newsletters. I have added a button on the User Menu page to access the Race Volunteer options. This will let you volunteer to be a captain or crew on any of the race support boats:

o Committee boat o Mark boat o Pin boat o Safety boat o Shore crew I have added a button on the User Menu page to access the Committee Volunteer options. This will let members volunteer to help on one of the various committees with in the Boat Club. It will also let the committee chairperson know who is interested in helping them on their committee. There is also a button to access the Website s User Guide which is being continuously updated and filled in. 2. The cutoff for our printed Directory content is Wednesday March 22. This will allow Sherrie Kinkead time to create and print the directory books and have them available at our April General Meeting. If it is not correct online it will be printed wrong in the directory. 3. Terry Hopkins is the photo editor. Send Terry any pictures that you would like to have posted on the website. 21.
