This week we would like to recognize cross country runners Grace Dean and Gabby Grider, as well as fellow runners Nick Petroy and Matt Reid. Dean & Grider have led the Wildcats in the past two Hokum Karem events, winning at HSE and placing 2 nd at Danville. Petroy & Reid teamed up to lead LN to a team championship at Danville. Great job, runners! Best wishes in Lafayette on Saturday.

Cheerleading/Student Fans/Grand Opening: A big thanks to the cheerleaders, drumline, and our awesome students who started off the day on Friday at 5:30am for the WTHR Sunrise show. The Wildcat spirit started early at sunrise and it didn t stop until well after sunset, after the Wildcats opened up the brand new Ed Martin Automotive Dwaine C. Bell Stadium with a resounding win over Brownsburg, 34-13. Thanks to all who made this possible!

Cross Country: The XC teams participated in the Danville Hokum Karem on Saturday, a relay type set up where two runners are paired up from each school. The LN boys were team champions! The Wildcats were led by Nick Petroy and Matt Reid. The Wildcat girls placed third overall, led by Grace Dean and Gabby Grider who were overall runners-up. Next up, the runners will travel to the Lafayette Invite on Saturday.

Football: What a great night it was at Lawrence North! The new Ed Martin Automotive Dwaine C Bell Stadium opened up the doors for the first time, and the Wildcats came up big! Lawrence North (2-0) gave the fans a show, sending the #9 Brownsburg Bulldogs home with their first loss of the season, 34-13. The defense played a big role in the first half, getting two turnover scores. Chauncey Mays caused a fumble and Maliq Carr scooped it up and rambled 60 yards for a touchdown. Moments before halftime, John Riggins returned an interception 95 yards for another Wildcat TD. The Cats went into halftime with a 21-0 lead, and sealed the deal in the second half, adding two more TDs. Tre Bonds, Chad Smitherman, and James Noble all had rushing touchdowns for LN. This Friday the LC Bears (2-0) cross the creek to visit LN in the annual Battle for the Bell at 7:00pm. Pre-sale tickets are $6.00, available at LN, LC, FCV or Belzer. Tickets at the gate are $10.00. This game will sell out, so get your tickets early. Both teams are ranked in the top 10 in the latest Sagarin ratings; Lawrence North comes in at #6 and Lawrence Central is #7. The Marching Pride of Lawrence Township will be performing at halftime and the Lawrence Township Football League players and cheerleaders will be recognized before the game. This will be a great night! The facility map is below.

Girls Golf: The Wildcat golfers have won four straight matches, last week beating Greenfield- Central and Beech Grove. The Wildcats will be playing in the always tough MIC conference championship at Praire View Golf Course on Monday, and then take on the Bishop Chatard Trojans on Thursday.

Boys Soccer: The soccer team (0-1-2) played at top ranked North Central, losing 4-0. They hosted Warren Central and tied the Warriors 2-2. This week the team will host Shelbyville on Tuesday and Ben Davis on Thursday.

Girls Soccer: The girls team (1-3-1) lost against Pendleton Heights and Westfield but picked up their first win of the season against MIC rival Warren Central, 3-2. The team will travel to Ben Davis on Wednesday and then will participate in the North Central Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Boys Tennis: The tennis team had a tough week against two top ranked teams in #1 Carmel and #7 Brebeuf. The squad will take on Center Grove, Park Tutor and Chatard this week.

Volleyball: The volleyball team went 2-2 last week, losing to HSE, and Providence, but taking wins from Floyd Central and Muncie Central. The Cats will host Westfield on Monday and MIC rival Ben Davis on Tuesday, then go on the road to face Bishop Chatard on Thursday.
