Each team has won a game in the series following Friday s 6-1 victory for the Thunder. The Senators were swept by Trenton at ARM & HAMMER Park in the first series of the season between the two clubs May 1 to May 3. The Senators split their lone doubleheader games this season on April 9 against Altoona. JOSE IS BACK Jose Marmolejos went 1-4 with a double on Friday night in his first game of the season. The 24 -year-old is was added to the Senators roster on an MLB rehab, giving the Senators 26 players on the roster. Marmolejos began the season on the 60-day disabled list with a strained right forearm. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native played in 33 games for the Senators last season, hitting.299 with two home runs and 11 RBI. KHAYYAN HEATING UP Khayyan Norfork has finished with two hits in three of his past five games after he had just one multi hit effort going into that stretch. GLOVER REHAB APPEARANCE On Wednesday, reliever Koda Glover became the first Nationals player to go on a rehab assignment with the Senators this season. Glover allowed one hit and struck out one batter in a scoreless seventh inning, his lone frame of work. The right-hander is rehabbing from a left hip injury and has been on the 10-day disabled list since April 26. SCHEDULE CHECK-IN The Senators are in the midst of a stretch where they play 11 of their next 14 games on the road, with its only home series a three-game set against Bowie May 16-19. After returning home, the Senators go on a seven game road trip to Richmond and Erie. GOOD MORNING TO YOU ALL Wednesday s game marked the first of two morning games the Senators play at FNB Field this season. The club s second and final morning home game is scheduled for the series finale against Bowie on Thursday, April 18 on the next homestand. In total the team plays five morning games this season, including back-to-back morning affairs on May 24 and May 25 at Erie. TODAY S STARTING PITCHERS Mark Blackmar starts game one of the doubleheader for the Senators. The right-hander is 3-2 with 7.52 ERA this season in seven games and five starts. Blackmar started against Trenton on May 3, and surrendered six runs across four innings in the Senators 6-0 loss as the Thunder finished the sweep of the three game series. Blackmar will be opposed by starter Brady Lail. The right-hander is making his 2017 debut for the Thunder, after starting six games for Scranton, the triple-a affiliate of the Yankees. Lail has spent parts of the last two seasons with Trenton. The Senators send John Simms to the mound in the second game of the doubleheader. The right-hander is 1-2 with a 3.21 ERA in six starts this season. Simms worked a quality start in his last appearance against Erie on May 9. The Thunder counter with Nestor Cortes. The lefthander is 1-0 with 2.55 ERA in three starts and six games this season.
