LATE WITHDRAWALS MISCELLANEOUS Trainer, Dean Maniaci was questioned over the nomination and scratching of STONEAGE ROMEO (8), which was reported sick on 25.12.18, engaged in the race four. Stewards had concerns with the nomination of the greyhound, which was attempting its first start over 720 metres, after 68 starts. Also of note was Mr Maniaci having another greyhound engaged in the event, DOUGHBOY HOLLOW (2). Mr Maniaci stated STONEAGE ROMEO (8) was dehydrated after trialling at Nowra on Sunday over 630 metres and was on a drip on Monday, which he applied. He stated it was his intension after trialling, not to step the greyhound up in distance for the immediate future. Stewards noted Mr Maniaci comments and STONEAGE ROMEO (8) was issued with a 10-incapiciation certificate. Mr Maniaci was advised that his nominations would be closely monitored for the immediate future. RACE 2 WINNER SORRY SCOTT (8) WP ON FACEBOOK STAKES 5 TH GDE 520M NUM CHUCK CHICKI (2), BOB S CHANCE (4) and WINSOME BAILEY (5) collided on the first turn. As a result of this incident, ROCKSTAR STANGUS (7) had to check. Shortly after, WINSOME BAILEY (5) galloped on the back of ABOUT THE SOUTH (6) dragging that greyhound back. PRINCE FABLOCH (1), WINSOME BAILEY (5) and ROCKSTAR STANGUS (7) came together, on the home turn. ABOUT THE SOUTH (6) was examined by the veterinary surgeon after the event and no injury was found. Raymond Lacava was reprimanded under GAR 44 for using his mobile telephone in the stir up area, just prior to the start of the event. When assessing penalty stewards took into account Mr Lacava s good record of having no previous offences under this rule.
