5 Download and read the ChampCar Endurance Series BCCR: https://champcar.org/rules Reading the rules is required by all CCES drivers, crew and car builders. Pit, Paddock and Garage Supplemental Rules: SRPP1 Pit lane and Inner Paddock spaces will be assigned. SRPP2 No crew members are allowed over the wall until the team car has come to a complete stop in the pit box. SRPP3 The Hot Pit Lane will be the exclusive fueling area. Fueling of race cars shall be completed by use of 5-gallon plastic jugs with hoses or other fueling adapters as specified in the ChampCar BCCR. Jugs must have sealable lids/caps. Teams are restricted from having more than 25-gallons of fuel in their pit stall. Metal fuel drums or other fuel containers and caddies with manual pumps (no electric pumps) and hose lines are allowed to re-fill plastic jugs but are not allowed for re-fueling race cars. All fuel storage must be maintained on the cold side of the pit wall or kept within your transporter. SRPP4 All teams shall have: one (1) fully-charged 10lb ABC fire extinguisher in their pit area; one (1) 10lb bag or container of kitty litter, or other reasonable absorbent for oil leaks and/or fuel spillage in their pit area; a suitable gasoline and/or liquid catch pan must be used during refueling in an appropriate position to catch any spilled fuel. All fueling / gasoline catch pans MUST be manufactured of metal or sturdy, chemical-resistant plastic, maintain a minimum 3 depth, hold a minimum of 1-gallon (4-quarts) of liquid. Catch pans should be larger than 12 square or 12 in diameter and should not exceed 24 square or 24 in diameter. Oil drip pans work perfectly for this; having a broom and dust pan handy is also advisable. SRPP5 Drivers may remain in the car during fueling and driver changes may also be completed. All engines and electrical kill switches must be off during fueling. NO WORK ON ANY CAR SHALL BE COMPLETED DURING REFUELING. SRPP6 All work and/or repairs that can be made to your race cars in under thirty (30) minutes may be executed in the Pit Lane; all repairs requiring more than 30 minutes time must be completed in the Paddock Area. A penalty of 1 lap for every five (5) minutes of work in the pit lane that exceeds 30 minutes shall be levied. SRPP7 All team members over the wall during fueling must wear a Nomex driver s suit, gloves and full-face helmet, Nomex socks, and closed toe shoes. Anyone over the pit wall while fueling with facial or long hair require a balaclava. Basically the same requirements as the driver, except you may substitute your approved racing shoes for closed toe shoes. Leather boots are recommended. SRPP8 Electric, propane or kerosene heaters within the cold side of the pit wall are allowed provided all heating elements or flame sources are directed away from any flammable material and are kept a minimum of 20 from any fuel storage. No open flame stoves or BBQs are allowed in the cold pits. SRPP9 All cars, used or junk parts too big for a normal trash can, empty fuel drums and anything else you brought with you must be taken out with you. If you leave it behind, we ll track you down and it won t be pretty. SRPP10 - The sound level of your car is not to exceed 90 dba at 50 feet. This will be strictly enforced! SRPP11 - RED FLAG Lunch break for corner workers. Laguna Seca requires that the corner workers get a half-hour break. We are giving them one-hour. The race will be red-flagged at noon. All cars will be brought down pitlane. All work must stop on cars in the pit and paddock. Drivers will exit cars, and you may remove in-car data cards/cameras. No work will be allowed on the cars. Drivers will be called back to the cars at 12:45 pm. You may only re-insert datacards and cameras, and add ice to your cool suit boxes when the race restarts. Driver stints reset. You must do one lap before you can pit, unless car is broke on pitlane, then you can start your pitstop after the cars on track have taken the green flag. Please email the event coordinator to request pit buddies. Put Pit Request - Laguna Seca in subject line. Paddock: While the new race control tower is being built, ChampCar will be using the inner Main Paddock and Pitlane. Pitlane and paddock spots will be assigned. If you have friends you would like to pit and paddock with, please send the request to info@champcar.org and put Road Atlanta Pit Request in the subject heading. Paddock Electric/Lighting: None. Very limited lighting. Pitlane Electric/Lighting: None Pit Passes: Teams are advised that all team members, family, and guests who desire Pit Lane access MUST purchase a Weekend Membership Pass through ChampCar at the track. ChampCar members can obtain a free pit pass by showing their membership card. Guest Pass: Guests may purchase a weekend membership to ChampCar at the gate and watch the race for $20. Pets: They are welcome on property, but must be kept on a leash. Children: Children must be under adult supervision at all times. Children under 18 are not allowed on pit road. Camping: Contact http://www.weathertechraceway.com/ camping for reservations. Campground located on site. Barbecues: BBQ s are allowed in the camping area only, provided all BBQ s are supervised at all times, a fire extinguisher is within 15 of the open flame, and all open flames are (at a minimum) 20 from all race cars, fuel storage or other flammable sources. Restroom / Showers: Restrooms are available in the paddock. No showers. Gate: 24-hour gate coverage. Must have a wristband to enter. Concessions: Concessions will be open. Each car competing in a ChampCar event shall display the official ChampCar Endurance Series banner at the top of the windshield. The decal must be unobstructed and in clear view. For cars with no windshield, the Event Director will designate an alternate location for the banner. 9.8.2. ChampCar will provide teams with other series sponsor logos, printed on a single decal, which must be displayed next to the ChampCar number panels on each side of the car. 9.8.3. Other event sponsorship decals may be required. 9.8.4. All sponsor decals will be provided at ChampCar TechInspection. 9.8.5.
