ASW 2019 ACTIVITIES To participate in any water activity, each participant MUST complete the swim test. Your given arrival time is the start of your activities to be scheduled. Any activity missed due to late arrival may not be able to be rescheduled. Waterski Friday, Saturday & Sunday at the Boat Dock Sign up A sit ski (pictured below) is what a participant will sit in as they waterski. Accommodations are made to assist with balance if needed. A chase boat (jet ski with staff on it) will follow the skier to provide support while out on the water. All persons must not exceed 200 lbs. and/or a cushion size of 18 to waterski. Tubing Friday & Saturday at the Tubing site Sign up This activity involves a large 3-person tube that participants and their family/caregivers can ride in. There is also a chase boat right behind the tube in case support is needed while on the water. Scuba Diving Friday, Saturday & Sunday at the Pool Sign up This activity is led by Dive Masters from Divers @ Sea (a local Atlanta dive shop). Participants can use scuba equipment to experience breathing underwater.
Jet Ski Friday, Saturdays, & Sunday at the Boat Ramp Sign up Participants can ride or drive a jet ski on the lake. Exciting way to explore camp by lake side! Confidence Course Friday, Saturday & Sunday at the Zip Tower Sign up Participants have many options to get to the top of the wall. Each participant will then take the zip line back down which is a great thrill! Water polo Friday & Saturday at 4:00 at the pool Sign up This activity happens in the pool on Friday and Saturday afternoons. Come hop in an inner tube and compete with other participants for the win! Pond Fishing Saturday & Sunday evenings meet at circle drive drop In Participants and family members can fish at camp s local fishing pond. This activity takes place all both evenings. Transportation is provided to get you and your family/caregiver to the pond.
Animal Encounter Saturday, meet in the Circle Drive Sign up or drop in Come visit the ASCCA farm and feed, groom, and visit with a variety of farm animals. Target Shooting All weekend (day and evening sessions), meet in Circle Drive Sign up Participants can shoot a stationary target. A variety of skill and ability levels can be accommodated. Skeet Shooting Friday & Saturday evenings, meet in Circle Drive Sign up Participants can shoot skeet in the evenings. Ability to hold a shotgun securely is needed to participate. Quad Rugby Friday evening in the Pavilion Sign up This activity is only for individuals that have impairments in all four extremities. Anyone that has played before or is new to the game is able to participate. Ability to maneuver a manual wheelchair is needed to participate.
Tennis Friday & Saturday evenings at the Tennis Courts Sign up Participants that are new to tennis or experienced in the skill are welcome. Ability to stand or maneuver a manual wheelchair is needed to participate. Wheelchair Basketball Saturday evening at the Pavilion Sign up Participants that are new to wheelchair basketball or experienced in the skill are welcome. Ability to maneuver a manual wheelchair is needed to participate. Pontoon Boat Ride Friday & Saturday evenings & Sunday morning at the Boat Dock Sign up A small group of participants and family members can take a sunset boat ride on Lake Martin. Canoe/Kayak Friday, Saturday, Sunday at the Boat Ramp Drop in This is one site that is always a must! Take a paddle and enjoy the great scenes on the lake either by a canoe or kayak. Canoe/Kayak Open Water Trip Friday & Saturday evenings at the Boat Ramp Sign up at site during the day Participants must paddle a canoe or kayak during the day time to sign up for the evening trip.
Tie Dye Friday & Saturday evenings at the Art Room in Mark Roberts Drop in Come tie dye in the art room to make camp one to remember! Painting/Crafts Friday, Saturday & Sunday AM at the Art Room in Mark Roberts Drop in Experience a little Art within the Outdoors. You can also express your creativity with support from Shepherd s Art Specialist. Explore multiple painting options to make a souvenir to remember your adventurous weekend. Open Swim All weekend during the day at the pool Drop in Work on your swimming skills or just relax in the cool water. Come hop in the pool any time throughout the weekend!
