With only 4.56 pounds on Saturday, Sunday they stepped up to the scales with seven bass weighing 14.88 pounds, including Greg s 5.62 lbs big bass of the weekend. Their total weight was 19.44 pounds. They caught their fish on brush hogs, buzzbaits and crankbaits. The first place payout was $236. Congratulations! Pomme de Terre Lake Sixteen teams competed in our Pomme de Terre tournament. Unfortunately we lost a couple of teams due to boat problems and we hope they will be back on the water soon. Take off was out of Pomme State Park Marina. The marina has been a long time supporter of and donated 2 boat slips for a night. Our other Pomme supporters are Indian Hill Resort, Nemo Bridge Resort and Lucky s Restaurant & Sports Bar. highly recommends all of them to anyone planning a trip to Pomme de Terre Lake. There were 114 bass weighed in and once again every boat had fish. Skies were clear to partly cloudy with a light breeze throughout the weekend. Temperatures ranged from the mid 50 s to the mid 80 s. The lake was close to normal pool. The water was stained with water temperatures in the high 80 s.

Wayne Fischer Places Scott Hasty and Bryan Slaughter took second place. Scott and Bryan weighed in 12 bass for a total weight of 19.12 pounds, including Scott s 3.27 big bass for Saturday. Scott was one of four anglers with a limit on Saturday. I guess since Bryan couldn t win big bass AGAIN, he s happy his partner did. They caught their keepers on crankbaits & speed craws. Second place payout was $186. New members Mike and Wayne Fischer took the third place win. They weighed in 12 bass, including Waynes s 3.07 pounder, for a total weight of 18.66 pounds. Mike was also one of four anglers with a limit on Saturday. They were throwing buzzbaits, PopR s and finesse worms. Third place payout was $134. Coming in fourth place was Tim and John Dring. They brought 10 bass to the scale for a total weight of 15.60 pounds. Fourth place payout was $94. Terry and Lori Stanek took fifth place with 10 bass weighing 14.39 pounds. Fourth place payout was $64. Big Bass Scott Hasty The Big Bass winner for Saturday was Scott Hasty with a 3.27 pounder he caught on a crankbait. Big Bass pay out was $51.
I N F O Big Bass (continued) Greg Shands had the Big Bass on Sunday and for the weekend. Greg was the only angler with a limit on Sunday. Greg s big bass weighed 5.62 pounds and was caught on a green pumpkin brush hog. Big Bass pay out was $51 and the side pot was $80. Special Events Our special event for Rend Lake will be a washer tournament and we thought it would be fun if there was a chance to win some money. The cost will be $5 per team with a payout to the first and second place teams with 40% of the prize money to second place and 60% to first place. Now don t start looking for a washer partner because teams will be the same as the tournament teams. That s right, you ll be throwing washers with your fishing partner. Teams will play against each other and the winning teams will advance to the next round. You ll have a few weeks to practice and try to step up your game. Brings your drinks and lawn chairs. We will send out further information on the message board, Facebook and via email about the time and location.
NEXT TOURNAMENT When And Where REND LAKE Our next tournament is September 8-9 at Rend Lake. We will be taking off out of the Gun Creek Ramp. Tournament hours on Saturday are 6:30 am- 2:30 pm (note this is an 8 hour session) and Sunday 6:30 am to 12:30 pm. Tournament directors: Saturday - Shands/Shands, Sunday - Hasty/Slaughter. Directions To Rend Lake Gun Creek Ramp: From Hwy 255 & Hwy 64 take I 64 east (exit 120) toward Louisville for 71 miles. Take I 57 south toward Memphis for 14 miles. Turn right on IL-154 (exit 77) toward Sesser. Take the second left onto Gun Creek Trail and then turn right on Golf Course Road. Reminders If you are fishing Rend don t forget your IL fishing license. The out of state license can be purchased anywhere fishing licenses are sold. Benton Walmart is one location. Here are the prices for out of state licenses. 1 day license is $5.50, 10 day license is $20.00, annual license is $31.00. You can also purchase a license online at www.dnr.illinois. gov/fishing/pages/default.aspx. And be sure to get your Rend entry to Dan by Wednesday, September 5 to avoid a late entry fee. We still need tournament directors for the Lake of the Ozarks tournament. Tournament Directors are awarded three points for serving (one additional point if serving more than one time).
