The La Brea Tar Pits is one of the world s most famous fossil localities, and it is right here in Los Angeles. The adjacent museum displays Ice Age fossils including saber-toothed cats, dire wolves and mammoths from 10,000 to 40,000 year-old asphalt deposits. Outside the museum, in Hancock Park, the Pleistocene Garden and iconic life-sized replicas of extinct mammals depict the life that once grew, and roamed, in the Los Angeles Basin. The bus will leave at 10:00 AM and return at 5:30 PM on Saturday, October 22. The cost will be $25.00 per person this includes the bus and entrance to the museum. Lunch will be on our own. Doesn t this sound interesting? The signup sheet is on the board. Questions? Comments? Call Ed Reilly at (310) 326-4710 or Sharon Rose at (310) 539-0811.
