TOUCH OF GLASS CORVETTE CLUB NEWSLETTER Volume 14 - Issue 5 - May 2015 VETTE CHATTER Tiger Creek & Wildlife Refuge March 28, 2015 Well after waiting for what seemed like eternity for all the spring showers to leave, we finally were blessed with a beautiful sunny day! Fifteen of our Corvette friends headed out to the Tiger Creek Refuge in Tyler. This place is wonderful, they take in all types of large cats that have been abused, neglected or displaced and would have had to be put down without help. They are truly magnificent animals! Cost is minimal 10.00 for groups of ten or more, or family pass is only 65.00 year (includes children, grandparents). All the proceeds go to the care and up keep of the refuge, and I will go back! After this great experience we all drove over to Taste of Italy, located on the lovely lake Hawkins. What a treat the restaurant sits right on the lake with dining both inside and outside. Now if you haven t had the pleasure of eating there you are missing some of the best Italian food around. The food ranges from pizza, calzones to authentic Italian dishes. Prices are very good, and did I mention you can bring your own Beer or Wine! After having our fill of good food and great company we all headed our separate ways home. It was a great time, and an outing that gets an A plus rateing in my book. I will be back, in fact I can hardly wait! Herman Peters Chevrolet Is Proud To Sponsor Touch Of Glass Corvette Club

Vette Chatter page 4 MINUTES FOR THE APRIL 2015 TOGCC CLUB MEETING APRIL 7, 2015 President John Pearce called meeting to order at 6:30p.m. John Pearce welcomed all members and guest and the club started off with TOGCC Birthday Cake. New member Doc Stark with a 2004 C5 convertible. Matt Cook bought a 2015 white Z06 and Phillip bought Matts trade in a 2013 427 convertible. Kathy Rosborough read minutes of March meeting. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Heath and Pam. J.P. read the treasurer s report which reflected a club balance of $6255.79 as of April 7, 2015. A motion was made to accept treasurer report by Russ and Clint. CLUB BUSINESS: New Business TOGCC car show flyers should be ready for Hot Springs car show. There was a suggestion to take 250-300 flyers. A show of hands has 10-12 cars going. Cars leaving Thursday meet at Peters at 9:30 a.m. and cars leaving on Friday meet at Peters 9:00 a.m. Wayne will head a committee to get ad for car show in the newspaper. The club discussed paying for the meal at the Christmas Party. Russ suggest that the club could cover the cost for the shrimp boil he host every year at the Busted Knuckle. The club agreed. We need to talk to Issac about putting TOGCC business cards in new corvettes and also is Peter s paying new corvette owners first year membership into the club. Heath talks about having trouble posting to FaceBook. He will get it corrected. ACTIVITIES: The activities are the same as listed in last month s newsletter. Members need to start spreading the word at car events they attend about our car show in Oct. 50/50 drawing of $28.00 was won by Gregg and he donated it back to the club. Respectfully submitted by: Kathy Rosborough, Secretary

Vette Chatter page 5 2015 Hot Springs Car Show Short on Commentary, Long on Photo s Its my understanding that Touch Of Glass Corvette Club had four winning entries in this years highly competitive Hot Springs Car Show. Mark Callahan, Fred Christy, Russ Shepard and Ken Gunnell. Congratulations TOGCC. Thanks to Russ Shepard for photos.

Vette Chatter Page 7 Azleway Boys Ranch & Viper Day This day April 25, 2015 is the latest of several years for the Viper Club to Support Azleway Boys Ranch with a drive in Car Show. Several car clubs were invited to participate in this one of a kind Car Show. Everything from Model A Fords to Lamborghinis. Vipers galore, many Corvettes. Throughout the day contributions were taken for Azleway. There were three trophies given by the judges. Wayne Rauh presented trophies to the winners and model cars were given to all the boys at the Ranch and Contributions from the participants of nearly $9,000 to Azleway. From here we went to the Viper Ranch near Arp, TX.

Vette Chatter page 8 DeAnn and Wayne Rauh s Muesum and Viper Collection If you have not had a chance to visit Wayne and DeAnn s Viper Museum, be sure to go at the next opportunity. It just gets larger and more awesome every year. Dennis

Vette Chatter page 9 2015 TOGCC Birthday Celebration Riverside Trade Days Show & Shine We only had six cars there. The weather was very nice. Should we go again there is room for up to 22 Corvettes in this pavilion. I would go again at another time. Dennis

Vette Chatter page 10 On April 7 we were having our usual monthly TOGCC Club Meeting at the Jalapeno Tree. There were happy smiling faces all around. Although this is the first time I saw Doc. Sharpe with his C5 Roadster. Phillip, Kathy, and Lance showed up in their awesome 427 Convertible slap new to the Williams Family. And then there was new member Matt Croom with this white Z06. This will be two C7 Z06 s now in the Club to date. I believe that Cathy and Clint s is just around the corner. Now all we need to do is go somewhere.
