Carmel & Co Gymnastics Recreational,NL1 /2 & IL 3-5 Competition 2017 We are holding this competition as a friendly event for gymnasts who are currently participating in recreational programs, gymnasts working Nl1 & 2 s who have not competed yet, who are learning skills but not routines as yet. This will be a great event based on fun! Spectator entry is free. Canteen: Canteen will be open on the day selling a variety of Snacks, Drinks and hot food as well as a BBQ. Divisions: 4yo-8yo (Boys & Girls), 12.30pm 2:30pm 9yo-14yo(Boys & Girls),12.30pm 2:30pm WAG IL3, 12.30pm 2.30pm WAG NL1 & 2, 2:30pm -4:30pm IL5, 2.30pm 4.30pm Judges: Uniforms: For the recreational and advanced division, any level 4 or over gymnasts you have, over the age of 12 will be able to judge. We also have four qualified judges if you can provide one for the competition that would be great also!! Club leotards and tracksuits are not compulsory, but if your gymnasts do have them, please encourage them to wear them.

Divisions The Recreational division will be divided into 2 sections, beginner and advanced. Beginners are those gymnasts who only train an hour a week ages 4-8yo. Advanced gymnasts are those who still only do gymnastics for fun, who train 1 hour a week ages 9-15yo. NL 1 Gymnasts are those getting ready for a competitive program and learning level 1 skills. Typically training Level 1 foundation level skills training 2hrs hours per week. Gymnasts are those getting ready for a competitive program and learning level 1-2 skills, but not yet in full routines. Typically training Level 2 foundation level skills training 3hrs per week. There are no hard and fast rules, as the emphasis is on fun. So Clubs should make there own decisions about which section they should enter their gymnasts in. Within both beginner and advanced, gymnasts will be grouped into the following ages: Nl 1 & 2 4-6 Years 9-11 Years 4-6 Years 7-8 years 12-14 years 7-8 years 9-11 years 12 years + Awards: Beginner and : - All participants will receive a participation certificate with their scores on the certificate from each station. Each participant will receive a medal with the overall winner in each age division receiving a Trophy. NL L1 and NL L2, and IL 3 and IL 5: - All participants will receive a participation certificate, coloured banded ribbons for each apparatus. Each participant will also receive a medal with the overall winner in each Level receiving a Trophy. Scoring: Gymnasts will be scored out of 10 for each station, with no score being lower than 5. All the station scores added together determine the overall rankings. Stations & Skills: Gymnasts will be judged, performing the following skills on each station as outlined on the following page:

Station 1- Vault NL1 From a short run and straight jump of board to land on crash mat From a short run and Tuck jump of Air board to land on crashmat. From a short run and straight jump onto two crash mats. Station 5 - Bar 2 x tuck swings Jump to front support roll forward to tuck hold NL1 2 x tuck swings, then jump to front support 2 x casts 2 x tuck swings, then jump to front support 2x cast roll forward to tuck hold. Station 6 - Beam NL1 Station 7 Tumble trak NL1 4 steps over sand bag, then star jump of end of beam Walk forward x 4 then ¼ turn on two feet straight jump dismount 2 x pivot walks ( toe to knee in forward passé) walk forward x 4 then ¼ turn straight jump dismount. Jump to front support lift leg over to straddle sit then swing to tuck stand then stand up step to arabesque then straight jump then ¼ turn straight jump off. 3 x straight jump then jump half turn or full turn to land in foam pit 3 x star jumps, then jump full turn into pit 3 x tuck jumps, then front sommie to land in foam pit or tuck jump. 3 x tuck jumps, then front sommie to land in foam pit or tuck jump.
