St. Andrew's - Memorable Burns Night Planned for Saturday, January 21, 2012 Burns Night planning has been underway for some time now and it looks like we will have another great evening of celebration of the beloved Bard s birthday. Plan now to attend. Invitations are out and the reservation form is also available on the SAS website: mnstandrewssociety.org This year s dinner will again be at the Fort Snelling Officers Club, but this year we are back to a Saturday night, instead of Friday. We will have a great menu to choose from again, along with the traditional haggis, tatties and neeps. During the Social Hour, we will be entertained with pipe and fiddle music. We will have all the usual trappings of the evening that you would expect: the Address to the Haggis; the Toast to the Immortal Memory, this year done by Bill Watkins; the Toasts to the Lads and Lassies; and of course our silent auction. After dinner, prepare yourselves for some great entertainment. We have lined up a wonderful Celtic band from Rochester, Gaelic Tribe. This 6-piece band specializes in Irish, Scottish and Welsh music and they play a lively mixture of original and classic tunes, including jigs, reels, and airs. They will regale us with a mini-concert, and dancing will not only be tolerated, but encouraged! Please join us! As always they will be at The Glockenspiel Restaurant on West 7th Street in St. Paul, beginning at 1 pm. Please join us ther for a great time and a chance to win some really nice meat prizes.
