About Formula Pro USA Formula Pro USA (FPU) events take place at a great mix of tracks based on the west coast. The series is a direct feeder series into the Formula 4 United States Championship powered by Honda and utilizes the same FIA certified F4 racing machine. Stricter price controls and more limited travel expenses make this series the perfect next step for kart racers as they prepare for their eventual graduation into the national championship. The FPU championships are based in California where there is no off-season. The largest contingent of upand-coming karters are based there as well. FPU headquarters are trackside at Sonoma Raceway only a few hundred feet from the country's premier karting training center and race course. The series also pulls racers from the local SCCA region, which is the region with the most members in North America.
