Diversity is probably the most accurate image one could give to the Eastern Cape region. It is as diverse in flora and fauna as it is in cultural and political history. Nelson Mandela has his home here, and from the coastal cities to the rural inland areas, the Eastern Cape is famous for its natural beauty and friendly people. As well as enjoying the tranquil and malaria-free game viewing at our lodge, you can explore the golden beaches, magnificent marine life and sub-tropical forests of the Eastern Cape. No vaccination or shots required; consult your physician and www.cdc.gov for recommended shots (such as tetanus and hepatitis). It is from here your hunting adventure will begin. We have, within very short distances, very diverse habitats that support many species that can be hunted. The terrain ranges from coastal bushveld to mountainous terrain, depending on the species to be hunted. Tanzania 2013 Hunting Season From July to December (up to March in Masailand) Masailand & Selous: The Masai areaextends to the border of Kenya in the north of Tanzania. It is famous for its wonderful landscape and variety of game. One can find big herds of Thompson and Grant gazelle here. This is a great habitat for gerenuk, wildebeest, and also lesser kudu, fringed-ear oryx, buffalo, and leopard. The Selous is named after big game hunter Frederick Courtney Selous, and offers the largest hunting area in Tanzania. Together with the famous Serengeti, it is known as the biggest conservation area in Tanzania. The Selous offers the real Africa for the dedicated big game hunter. The Selous is completely unpopulated. This area is about 21,000 square miles. Nowhere else on Earth can you find more big game. Special Cape Buffalo in the Selous Game Reserve The Selous Game Reserve probably has the biggest buffalo population in Africa. Since 1992, our main PH Peter Dafner has had an astonishing 100% success rate on Cape Buffalo: a very good reason to book your buffalo hunt with us. We offer this kind of safari for the experienced hunter who intends to take a wide range of game in the Selous Game Reserve. This extended duration is very important to maximize your chance to harvest big trophies. Hunting on foot takes time. Cameroon Savannah 2013 Hunting Season 15 December to 15 May We have 2 hunting concessions in North-Cameroon, both exclusive to us. One of about 290 000 acres bordering the Vina river and a second area of about 150 000 acres close to the Boudandjida national parc. The biggest of the two area is mainly dedicated to Lord Derby Eland as well as Roan antelope, the very rare Korrigum, hartebeest, defassa waterbuck, Kob and Reedbuck. We use a ferry to cross the Vina river with the hunting vehicle from camp. It is also in the Vina river that we hunt hippos and catch giant Nile Perch. The smallest of the 2 area offers a bigger variety of species, including elephant and Lord Derby Eland. We also hunt buffalo and the small antelope species from both camps, such as the duikers, oribi Both camps are separated by 80 km of dirt road and can be reached in only 2h30.
