Stone, C. McMullen Medical Officer: Dr. P.B. Cummins RACE 1: VALE ELITE BELLE HANDICAP - 1800M BEDAMIJO (Alan Kennedy) Over-raced when leading in the middle stages. Lay outwards from on straightening and shifted ground in the early stages of the straight. HIGH APPEAL (Mitchell Pateman) Returned to scale making a respiratory noise following the race. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be slow to recover. Trainer undertook to monitor the gelding s recovery and advise Stewards of her future intentions. RIVE GAUCHE (Jerry Noske) Rider advised that the gelding was under pressure from the 1000m and failed to finish the race off. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Due to the uncompetitive performance, Trainer Mr J. Warwick was advised that the mare would have to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before racing again. RACE 2: WESTSPEED 3YO HANDICAP - 1200M RED ORA (William Pike) Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. MYBOYPAUL (Jerry Noske) Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 500m. STAR GLITTER (Brad Parnham) Slow into stride. Held up for clear running on straightening. VOLKOFF (Jason Whiting) Rider reported that the filly felt uncomfortable in its action on returning to scale following the race. A post race Veterinary examination revealed The filly to have a delayed recovery and muscle soreness which required treatment. RACE 3: WESTSPEED 3YO HANDICAP - 1600M MILITARY RULER (William Pike) Bounded on jumping. FATHING FAST (Brad Parnham) Carried wide near the 600m and raced wide from thereon. Returned with a minor abrasion to the near hind coronet and having cast its near hind plate during running. POETS PRINCE (Daniel Staeck) Taken outwards at the 600m to improve its position and raced three wide without cover. UNIVERSAL KING (Ryan Hill) Held up for clear running from on straightening until the 150m. When questioned in relation to him relinquishing the lead near the 1100m, rider advised that he was instructed to obtain cover and as the runner to his outside was travelling strongly he felt his best option in the circumstances was to allow it to cross. He further added, that although the

SECONDMENT (Kyra Yuill) Dipped and became unbalanced shortly after the start. Crowded and raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 125m. UPSIDEDOWN BOB (Lucas Camilleri) Lay inwards over the final 200m. RACE 4: YELLOWGLEN HANDICAP - 1000M BACK TO A WALK (Lucas Camilleri) Taken inwards to obtain clear running passing the 200m and raced in restricted room from the 100m. WOMBIE'S LEGACY (Mitchell Pateman) - Commenced awkwardly. Returned having cast its near hind plate during running. NIGHTINGALE ROAD (Jerry Noske) Turned its head immediately prior to the start and then dwelt on jumping, losing several lengths. Raced wide on straightening. Trainer Mr D. Kitchingman attributed the mare s poor starting manner to the addition of blinkers and he was subsequently granted permission to remove them for future starts. PROHURST EXPRESS (Glenn Smith) - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Held up for clear running from on straightening and angled outwards approaching the 100m. ZEDFIRE EXPRESS (Joseph Azzopardi) Raced wide throughout. BANGKOK EXPRESS (Renee Forrest) - Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly in the middle stages and raced four-wide without cover. Shoeing Change: ZEDFIRE EXPRESS - Bar shoes Off (Both fore) RACE 5: SKYY VODKA HANDICAP - 1400M LONGMA (Joseph Azzopardi) Over-raced in the early and middle stages. VEETEN (Jason Brown) - Taken outwards to race in a three-wide position when improving forward at the 600m. BALI CRUISER (Renee Forrest) Crowded and buffeted shortly after the start. RIGHT HONOURABLE (Steven Parnham) Raced keenly in the early and middle stages when racing outside the leader. CARRY THE NATION (Peter Knuckey) Raced wide on straightening and lay inwards over the final 150m. BALBOWA (NZ) (Brad Parnham) Bumped shortly after the start. Taken outwards at the 100 to obtain clear running. MISS RADLER (Daniel Staeck) A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. RACE 6: MAGIC MILLIONS HANDICAP - 1400M COUGAR NIGHTS (Jerry Noske) Bumped shortly after the start. TOTES AMAZE (Jordan Turner) Lay inwards in the straight. YE OLDE (Jason Whiting) Held up for clear running on straightening until approaching the 100m. CARNEY (Patrick Carbery) Trainer Mr Bernie Miller advised that he would instruct for the gelding to be ridden back in the field from its wide barrier and public announcements were made and this information was released on the RWWA Twitter account. Bumped on straightening and was taken outwards across heels to obtain clear running near the 125m. MR BALFIRE (Steven Parnham) When over-racing in the early stages got its head in the air. ASCOT : 17.01.15 136/3 RACE 7: ARGONAUT HANDICAP - 1500M FULL REIGN (Emma Stent) Dwelt on jumping. PIN ROUGE (NZ) (Jake Casey) Commenced awkwardly and was crowded and bumped shortly after. GO TIGER (Steven Parnham) Angled outwards to obtain clear running passing the 200m. WINK AND A NOD (Jerry Noske) Crowded and buffeted shortly after the start and lost ground. Raced wide without cover before crossing to race outside the leader near the 700m. Trainer Mr J. Warwick advised that the mare would now be sent for a spell. RANCHO MAN (Daniel Staeck) Crowded and steadied shortly after the start. DREAM THEATRE (Renee Forrest) Veered outwards on jumping. MOMENT OF LOVE (Brad Parnham) A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When questioned, rider advised that he attributed the disappointing performance to the fast pace set throughout running which effected its ability to finish the race off as expected. Trainer Mr N. Parnham concurred with the rider s comments and advised that it was his intention to nominate it to race in a mid-week event for its next start. WOODSVILLE (Mandy Richmond) Pulled hard in the early and middle stages and as a result was taken forward and raced wide throughout. RACE 8: THE SUNDAY TIMES HANDICAP - 1800M MAC IT IS (Glenn Smith) Steadied from heels at the 400m. BRADFORD BADBOY (Troy Turner) - Trainer Ms D. Riordan advised that she would instruct for the gelding to be ridden off the pace if possible and public announcements were made and this information was released on the RWWA Twitter account. Raced wide for the majority of the event. ALREADY FAMOUS (Alan Kennedy) Held up behind a tiring runner between the 600m and the 400m and was then angled outwards to obtain clear running approaching the 250m. RAINDANCE MAGGIE (Peter Hall) Raced three wide without cover throughout. VLOTTO (Ryan Hill) Slow into stride. FATHOMS OF GOLD (Kyra Yuill) When questioned regarding leading the event by a considerable margin, rider advised that the gelding pulled extremely hard and failed to settle throughout running and compounded shortly after straightening. Trainer Mr R. Rogers advised that it was his instructions to the rider to lead and gradually improve forward from the 1000m and he agreed with the remarks of the rider that the gelding pulled hard and failed to settle causing it to lead by approximately 10 lengths in the middle stages. Due to the gelding s racing manner, Trainer Mr R. Rogers was advised to restrict immediate racing away from prime metropolitan meetings until it shows an improvement in its racing manner by settling throughout running. CRIMSON RULER (Shelby Bowtell) - Commenced awkwardly and was steadied from heels shortly after. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Steadied outwards from heels passing the 1400m. SHIP ROCK (Emma Stent) Raced three wide without cover throughout. Steadied outwards from heels passing the 1400m. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for DABANG (J. Turner) being tightened for room and having to steady his mount passing the 1400m. Jockey Peter Hall (RAINDANCE MAGGIE) was reprimanded for careless riding under ARR.137(a) for allowing his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear causing the above interference.

TABtouch-The Home of Racing & Sport Handicap 1200m NARDINI Trainer Mr A. Durrant advised that the mare had recovered well and would now be sent for a spell.
ASCOT : 17.01.15 136/5 Late Reports Continued Bunbury Thursday, 15 January 2015 Race 3. The Jodie Mooney Maiden 1000m Stewards completed the adjourned inquiry into the whip use by Apprentice R. Forrest when riding DANCE MINDY DANCE in the above race in the straight. Apprentice Forrest pleaded guilty to a charge under ARR.137A(5)(a)(i) and (ii) for using her whip in the forehand manner on two additional occasions in the drawn position which included two consecutive strikes prior to the 100m and was subsequently fined the sum of $150. When assessing penalty Stewards took into account this was Apprentice Forrest s first whip offence. B.W.
