July 20 Fish Day Parade Doing Something For Those Less Fortunate Last Thanksgiving, when we were out shopping for all the food for our families annual feast, my wife asked me to get another Turkey, a bag of potatoes, celery, onion, yams, a bag of stuffing, and all the other things a family would need to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner. After we left the store, she had me drive to the food pantry at Family Sharing and give them the turkey and bag of groceries. I felt a wonderful sense of satisfaction, knowing we had helped another family that would now have their Thanksgiving feast! I thanked my wonderful wife for what she had just done, and told her how great it made me feel. We both thought this could be something each of us in the club could do to help those less fortunate. My first thought was how neat it would be to see a long line of Corvettes dropping off a turkey and a bag of groceries. However, it may look a little too "showy" for us to be doing this with our Corvettes. After all, this is about helping others- not showing off our cars. Others in the club agreed. This was about sharing to help others have a nice holiday. What we are proposing is that each member couple buy a 15 to 20 pound turkey, and all the trimmings; and that we drop off these items in our 'regular' cars as a group about 1 to 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. No publicity, no pictures, just pure charity from the heart. We have a enough time to make this happen as a group, and I can assure you, the feeling that will overcome you will be tremendous. We will have Darryl or Ron make a sign-up sheet for this. Thank you for your support! Jeff and Sue 4
