929 North 4 th Street Mankato, MN 56001 507-387-5122 info@mankatoleep.org www.mankatoleep.org August 2014 A Note from the Director, Mandy Hunecke August is full of a lot of fun for our friends at LEEP! One thing I think a lot of people will be very excited about is the 1 st ever Vikings Training Camp Reporting class. In this class Vikings fans will not only get to attend camp 4 times, they will learn how to become actual football scouts complete with creating recommendations for their picks for players! One of our favorite State tournaments also take place this month up in Woodbury, MN the weekend of August 16-17. If you have a chance I would highly recommend attending some of the competitions in support of our hardworking athletes. They have put in a long summer of practices and cannot wait to show what they can do. Fall Elegance is just around the corner and if you haven t already received your invitation they are on their way. LEEP will be hosting this event on Saturday, September 20 th and we are very excited to share the night with each of you. It is an event we look forward to every year. Hope you will join us! 16 th Annual Fall Elegance Dinner and Dance Saturday, September 20, 2014 The Fall Elegance Dinner and Dance is a formal event held annually to honor the contributions that people with disabilities make to our greater Mankato Community. It is a popular event with over 725 individuals in attendance last year. The evening consists of a social hour, dinner, entertainment and dance along with extras such as our photo booth and raffle prizes. All LEEP members will be receiving invitations very soon. (Payments for staff must also be included) Please return your RSVP to save your spot as soon as possible because space is limited. Phone registration is not permitted. NEW THIS YEAR! LEEP will be able to process online registration and credit card payments (minimal fee). Please watch your mail for more information included in the invitation. Helpful hints: RSVP s are due by Friday, August 29 and no late RSVP s will be accepted. Tables of 7 will not be accommodated and may result in groups being split. Tables of 1-6 or a full table of 8 are preferred. This event is a semi- formal event and staff is asked to dress accordingly. One professional photo per person will be allowed for the event. Your help with these details will ensure the night will be an evening to remember. Mark your calendars now, you don t want to miss the event of the year!!! LEEP will attempt to place younger athletes together. Special Olympics Summer Tournaments Informational letters for tournaments will be sent home with athletes in the specific sport.
