Winding Trails BSA The Boy Scouts have done a clean-up on the property. They will be having an astronomy campout on October 12 14. Save Our Streams Report Bad weather inhibited all outdoor activity. Lloyd met with Danielle and Samantha at the IWLA. We now know what we need to do to lay out a comprehensive chapter plan. The committee met and discussed the actions necessary to put an effective plan in place. We ll narrow down the number of streams, designate locations and develop a schedule. The goal is to do chemical testing monthly on streams, and semiannually on lakes and canals. A plan for biological certifications is to be implemented in the Spring of 2019. We will be saving our testing data and begin using the online system This will allow them develop trend analysis, etc. Our cooperation with HQ is really helpful. They have a lot of resources. They were very generous and completely replenished our chemical testing kit, at no cost. The end result of all this is that we will be contributing meaningful information to the IWLA that they can use in a productive manner to help keep our waters healthy for personal and recreational use. For those of you willing to help, please contact James or Lloyd. Road Clean-Up There is a road clean-up scheduled for October 13. Clean-up starts at 8:00AM. Contact Steve Trice. Summer League Follow-Up Last month s newsletter had Summer League information. Here s some pictures from the Summer League banquet. It looks like everyone had a great time. Monthly Shoot - Family Edition The monthly shoot was held on September 29. There were 12 attendees. The shoot was a three-distance shoot. Three rounds were allowed at 100, 200 and 300 yards with unused rounds usable at the next distance. The shoot was exciting because there was a fatherdaughter shoot-off. Sabrina and Paul both got a perfect score. The shoot-off was a two-inch dot at 300 yards. Paul went first and placed a solid shot inside the left side of the dot. But Sabrina placed her shot dead center in the dot for the win. And BTW, she was using her father s rifle! Figure 4 - Relay One... September 24, 2018 Volume 27 Number 9, Page 2
