Monday, 8 August 2016 Music Over the past couple of weeks we have been exploring sound, looking at high and low pitches. To further extend the children's knowledge Miss. Rouse showed the children her special music staff, or stave house. Miss. Rouse explained the concepts of pitch by showing the children when there are marks at the top of the house, the roof, the pitch is high and when there are marks at the bottom of the house, the floor, the pitch is lower/deeper. We then made our own pitch sounds using pipe cleaners, which were performed in front of the group.

Thursday, 11 August 2016 In preparation for the Mini Olympics the children have been practising their skills in our Motor Skills sessions with Mrs. Zachest. Thursday morning was a fun occasion for the children to put all those skills in to action and compete in the ELC Mini Olympics. The children participated in six events; hockey, athletics, swimming, equestrian, team work (feeding the chickens) and relay. To celebrate the children's achievements, they were presented with an individualised medal they had made especially for the event. When all children had their medal, Aiden raised the Australian flag and we all sang the National Anthem the crowd showered the athletes will huge applause of congratulations.
