Mike Lawhon and crew will be preparing the food. 21 June - Boat Club Golf Tournament The competition will be held at Lockhaven again this year. There will be a meal back at the Boat Club after the tournament. 9 August - Boat Run Mark your calendar. The Owls will be playing at the club after the boating. PAST EVENTS: 15 March St. Patrick s Day Dance The Street Beat band played for a great crowd at the St. Patrick's Day Dance. 16 March John Boat Jamboree It was a windy but fun time at the 2014 John Boat Jamboree! There were around 10 boats, and 25 people enjoying the food and friends on Duck Blind Island. The American flag that Lieutenant Dan and Bobby Ray Sunshine raised on the island is still flying. 22 March - Wii Bowling Jill Schultz was again victorious on the lanes, Rhone Gillis took second. We had free wings as always and many people brought side dishes to share. A large group watched their family member compete on Wheel of Fortune!!! DOCK ASSIGNMENT (BOB JENKINS 618-406-6034) There are docks and Parking Spots available to rent. Contact Bob Jenkins if you're interested or have any questions or concerns. DOCK REPAIR (MATT KNIGHT 618-407-9890) The water on the docks will be turned on April 19th "Weather Permitting". New spuds should be set by the time you read this newsletter. ENTERTAINMENT (MATT WOULFE 618-465-3151) Thanks to everyone for making the St. Patrick's Day Party and the John Boat Jamboree a success! Looking forward to the Boat Run in August!! GROUNDS (DOUG PICHEE 618-580-6930) Warm weather will mean lots of work outside on the grounds. Contact Chairman Pichee to get some work hours. HOUSE (RON JENKINS 314-852-7860) Chairman Jenkins is getting bids for new flooring for the club. Keep an eye on future newsletters for more information. SPECIAL EVENTS (TOM WILLIAMS 618-466-0134) There will be arts and crafts for the children's enjoyment at the Kid's Easter Egg Hunt April 14th. Contact Chairman Williams for more info or to sign up a foursome for our annual golf outing on June 21st. FROM THE COMMODORE Boating season is fast approaching!! Be sure to keep our docks safe and your boats up to par on safety too. The Alton VFW Ritual Team that performs military funeral services could use some support with purchasing new uniforms. They are holding a benefit dinner on Saturday, April 12th. Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. Cash donations are also welcome. There are a lot of upcoming events at the Boat Club.
