QCLGA GENERAL MEETING THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, FOLLOWING GOLF MADERA CLUBHOUSE BALLROOM CALL TO ORDER AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES The November 12 QCLGA meeting was called to order by President, Gail Phillips at 2:02 PM. Minutes of the September 3 General meeting was approved as posted on the Website. Linda Bracket made the motion, 2 nd by Nancy Planck. EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORTS President: Gail Phillips Annual Summary Report - see supporting documents Green Committee Meeting Nov. 2 summary - see supporting documents Vice President: Kathy Stotz Kathy thanked the members for attending the luncheon. Epi and her staff were thanked for the food and service. Junior Golf Kathy will be selling golf and non golf items from her home, at the QC garage sale. To date she has received new items donated from the Pro Shop: 2 golf buddy voice yardage finder wristbands; travel golf bag; golf buddy cart mounts; a ladies short sleeve shirt; and other miscellaneous items. Several used golf items have been donated by our members and friends, but more items are certainly welcome. There is $778.81 in the Junior Golf Fund and hopefully by spring we will have more money to distribute to the Junior Golf Programs in our area. Awards Luncheon Food: Kathy asked the members to put suggestions in the box at the Pro Shop as to what foods we will serve at the luncheon. Handicap rules for the golf course: Enter the holes between the white stakes Carts may go into the rough if necessary Carts may not go closer than 25 feet to any part of the green Exit hole through the white stakes Secretary: Jan Delcour (No report) Treasurer: Paula Scafuri The total number of 2015 QCLGA Members is 141. Thus far, 74 ladies have paid their dues for 2016. As of October 31, 2015, we have a bank balance of $16,011.29 of which $12,019.35 is earmarked in our various Reserve funds (Member/Guest, Junior Golf, Birdies, Ringers, Chip-In, Rally for the Cure, etc.) and $1,342.00 is prepaid 2016 dues. The Susan G. Komen/Rally for the Cure was held on October 22, 2015. To date an estimated donation amount is close to $10,000. Please tender any remaining receipts to Paula Scafuri as soon as possible. QCLGA has received a thank you note from the Rally Board for our Hole Sponsorship donation to Susan G. Komen. This note has been posted to the Bulletin Board in the Pro Shop. One of our QCLGA members has recently lost her spouse - Diane Klaerich. In lieu of flowers, and as requested by the family, a in memoriam donation was sent on behalf of

QCLGA to Loyola University of Chicago in memory of Diane s husband, Mr. Ralph D. Klaerich. A thank you note from Loyola recognizing our donation is also posted to the Pro Shop Bulletin Board. On behalf of QCLGA, a $100.00 donation was made to the Quail Creek Employee Appreciation Event being held on December 7 th. 2016 QCLGA Membership dues are now open to be paid. The increase in the dues was approved by the general membership. Therefore, QCLGA dues will be $25 per year instead of $20 per year. AWGA handicap fees remain at $30 per year. An email was sent, about the end of October, to inform the membership and detail out the money required to be paid (QCLGA dues and AWGA Fees) and the optional fees (RBCI, and SDWGA Membership). There is quite a bit of old and accumulated Treasurer s records taking up needed space. Paula made the motion to dispose all QCLGA records prior to 2012. According to our bylaws only the last three years must be saved. Cathy Nelms 2 nd the motion. Motion passed. Paula will shred the documents. Laura Colbert offered to shred a bundle of records. Tournament Chair: Irene Payne Irene recognized and congratulated our Club Champion for 2015: Karen Stensrud. The membership vote to raise the weekly game fee to $5 passed 94% to 6%. The 2016 Tournament Committee members are: Irene Payne Chairman, Barbara Erickson, Dreama Fumia, Nancy Hoppe. New members will be Chris Gould and Sandi Hrovatin. Karen Stensrud is resigning as she will be the Website manager. We thank Karen for all her hard work and welcome our new members, who have already been an active part in the 2016 planning process. Change in Blind Draw procedure: The Blind Draw was drawn after the event was played in the old method. The new procedure: The Blind Draw will be drawn before the event takes place. The Blind Draw will not be paid. The money will be divided among the winners. STRAW POLL: A request was received to hold at least one of our major tournaments on a Thursday, Thursday, Thursday schedule, rather than the current Thur Tues Thur. Some members cannot commit to playing three weeks in a row and some ladies cannot play on Tuesdays. Shall we pursue this change? Vote was tied; 21 in favor and 21 opposed. Irene said the QCLGA Board will decide this issue. STRAW POLL: In our endeavor to get some new games we are considering a combined game with the QCMGA. This would not be a couples event (not signing up with spouse), nor is it a Prickly Pair event. We would make teams of 2 men, 2 women and will play a 2 BB event 1 BB from the women, 1 BB from the men on the team. We re calling it a Mixer. In 2016 it will be on one of our Thursdays. (We will be careful not to plan it during a week when there is already a Couples event, and not close to the Prickly Pair event). If it is successful we will ask the men to plan it on one of their Tuesdays the following year. Vote to pursue this: 36 in favor. STRAW POLL: A request was received to go back to an 8:00 AM shotgun during the winter months of December, January, February (starting in 2017). Irene previously provided statistics of % of frost delays in 2014/2015. (December 26%, January 32 % and February 0%) Even if there are frost delays our 12:45 shotgun will start on time. Discussion ensued. 31 ladies voted to continue the 12:45 PM shotgun 18 voted to go to 8:00 AM. Past President: Rose Welliver - Robson Challenge The Robson Challenge will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Robson Ranch in Eloy (Casa Grande). The event will be an 8 AM shotgun followed by a buffet lunch and awards presentation. Congratulations to the 2015 QC team as follows: Rose Welliver (Captain), Bonnie Anderson, Linda Brackett, Laura Colbert, Holly Crombie, Alice Dyke, Betty Martens, Sherry Morris, Gail Phillips, Tommy Reid, Joann Salazar, Karen Stensrud, and Joel Jaress (Pro).

Based on qualification tracking, 22 ladies were contacted to get to a team of 12 in a very short time frame between our last qualification date and the time for submitting a team roster. Those unable to play were polled to determine what might be done next year to simplify the selection process. The only change that would seem to help, is to remind members throughout the year when the Robson Challenge is scheduled and in late summer to ask that anyone who is not able or does not want to play to speak up at that time and they will be taken off the tracking list. That will leave only serious players on the list and should make the contact process move more quickly. COMMITTEE REPORTS Handicap Chair: Nancy Hoppe: Nancy thanked her 2015 committee members for their service: Kathy Stotz, Nancy Planck, Susan Warburton, Bonny Wilcox. Leaving the committee next year are Kathy, Nancy, Susan. New to the committee will be Linda Matsen. Linda will be working with the committee during the year and be certified next fall. We are looking for a least one more lady to join the handicap committee. Rules and Regulations: Bonny Wilcox Four of the new rule changes as of 2016 have been recapped in the Board Minutes and the handouts Bonny put on the tables. Rule issues during the Club Championship: Failure to putt out: Player misses a short putt, picks up the ball in frustration, then realizes she must putt out what is she to do? She must replace the ball as near as possible to the place where it lay and finish the hole. One stroke penalty. What if she fails to hole out and tees off from the next teeing ground? She is disqualified in stroke play, Rule 3.2 Player plays a provisional ball and hits it three times before she reaches the place where the original ball is likely to be. Then she finds her original ball, what happens to the provisional? (She must abandon the provisional). Do the strokes she took with the provisional ball count? (No) If she continues to play with the provisional ball, what happens? It becomes the ball in play. What if you are not sure which play to finish the hole with play a second ball Rule 3-3. Only in stroke play. Hospitality: Sharon Hayes/Judy Murray Susan Jones has been visited and is now a member. Please let Sharon or Judy know if one of our members needs a card sent to her. Birdies/Chip-ins/Ringers/HIO: Laura Colbert PGA Senior Champions Tour - Conquistadore Classic 2016 Omni Tucson National Golf Resort March 14 20, 2016 A few of the seniors playing are: Fred Couples, Kenny Perry, Tom Lehman, Rocco Mediate, Colin Montgomerie and Bernhard Langer. Volunteers are needed for this tournament. Laura has volunteer applications. Contact Terri Conine at 399-2995 if you would like more information. HIO club now has $260.00 in the pot. Holiday Awards Luncheon and Presentation December 17. The program this year will be shortened. Laura announced she will be resigning as chair on December 31, 2015. She stated she has enjoyed the position, but it was time to hand over the reins. Karen Conner will be the new chair. SDWGA/AWGA: Cathy Nelms SDWGA Membership renewal for 2016 began with the QCLGA annual dues collection. The amount remains $6 for 2016. The SD Board unanimously approved an increase in dues

The Board voted to pay the registration fee of $100 each and reimburse each $50 of their expenses Cathy will be retiring as our representative at the end of 2015.
