2017 SPELLING BEE COMPETITION RESULTS The annual PLMS Spelling Bee, held after school on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, showcased the spelling expertise of our students in an intense competition lasting eleven rounds. All of the participants displayed impressive spelling skills; however, the last three remaining spellers were able to spell ricochet, conundrum, and subterranean with authority. All spelling bees must come to an end, however. When the PLMS Spelling Bee was over, Quentin Ford took third place honors, Dylan Dean was the runner up in second place, and in the eleventh and championship round, Anna Murphy spelled the word endeavor correctly to become the winner of the 2017-2018 PLMS Spelling Bee. As the winner of the PLMS Spelling Bee, Anna will compete next in the Jackson-Clay Championship Spelling Bee on February 24, 2018. Good luck, Anna! POSITIVITY SPREADS THROUGH PLMS Pleasant Lea's staff Well-Being team took time to share a little holiday cheer with students on Tuesday, November 21st. Staff members greeted each student at the doors as they unloaded off the buses. Every student received a pencil with a message on it such as, "Own It", "You Matter", "I Can and I Will", and "You've Got This". The staff has been focusing on spreading positivity throughout the school and wanted the students to know just how thankful we are for each of them.
