Congratulations Kaleidoscope Connection - Page 2 Congratulations to our second graders who received The Sacrament of First Eucharist! Counseling Corner This past week in guidance lessons, first and fifth grade learned about dealing with anger. In fifth grade, the class discussed what anger physically feels like and what happens to their bodies. They then put together a puzzle of coping skills that they can use when they feel anger coming on. Some of these include: playing with a pet, talk to an adult, read the Bible, and punch a pillow, among others. In first grade, the students worked in pairs and used marshmallows and toothpicks to create a marshmallow family. They then described what anger looks like in their own family. We then discussed appropriate ways to show anger. Cheer Clinic The middle school cheerleaders are hosting a cheer clinic on May 13th for students in Pk4-1st grade. Forms are due on Monday, May 8th. 2017 Summer Reading You may purchase the summer reading books from any outside vendor, check them out at your local library, or download them to your electronic device. If you have any questions please contact Bethany Richard at brichard@stalphonsusbr.org.

To all of you parishioners, private donors and sponsors, local merchants and business owners--- Thank You! As we continue to rebuild our lives and our homes and strengthen our faith, we ask everyone to pray for complete healing of all who suffered loss, spiritually, physically and emotionally, so that through Jesus we may all be whole again. We ask for your continued support of this annual event through your participation, monetary contributions, gifts in kind, and most of all volunteer efforts so we can continue to sustain the festival which has become an integral part of St. Alphonsus and the Central Community.
