September 11, 2018 Greetings to the Roswell High School Community, This Thursday evening is Open House and all of us at Roswell are excited to welcome you to our school for a chance to meet your student s teachers and get a small sense of what a school day is like. Here is the agenda for the evening: 6:00 pm 6:30 pm Counselors will be handing out schedules in the cafeteria. Parents are strongly encouraged to get their student s schedule from either their student or Home Access before attending. Parents should be in their student s First Period class. A short video will be presented and some announcements will be made about the evening. 1 st Period 6:40 pm 6:50 pm 2 nd Period 6:55 pm 7:05 pm 3 rd Period 7:10 pm 7:20 pm 4 th Period 7:25 pm 7:35 pm 5 th Period 7:40 pm 7:50 pm 6 th Period 7:55 pm 8:05 pm A few other notes about Open House: We do have some teachers who can t attend because of graduate school, coaching, or other commitments. If they are going to be absent, I have asked that they share this information with their students. Roswell s Bi-Lingual Liaison, Esmer Johnson, will be hosting a meeting for Spanish speaking parents at 5:30 pm in the Media Center. If you do not have the ability to log into Home Access Center (HAC), we will have an employee in the Media Center from 6:0 pm to 8:00 pm to provide that information. Open House is not the appropriate time to have an individual conference about your student s progress in class. If you need to speak with a teacher, please feel free to send an email or make an appointment. I look forward to seeing everybody at Roswell Thursday evening!

Varsity Football Congratulations to the Varsity football team as they went on the road to West Forsyth and won, 21-17. This means that both Roswell and Milton will meet at Milton this Friday with both teams undefeated! Click HERE for highlights from Fox5. I look forward to seeing everybody at Milton on Friday evening. Athletes of the Month Once again, the RHS Athletic Department is recognizing a group of in-season athletes every month. Nominated by their coaches, these athletes may be having great seasons, but they are also being congratulated for being positive representatives of Roswell. The JV Volleyball team had a strong showing at the Georgia Challenge Tournament. The team beat Lakeside and fought hard against other strong programs. Congrats! Orchestra This week members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra came to Roswell to perform for our orchestra students and worked with them in sectionals. A great opportunity for our students to learn from the best. Thanks to Director Sara White.

Roswell Kiwanis Teacher of the Year Celebration Congratulations to Roswell Teacher of the Year Emily Kennedy as she was recognized, along with the Teachers of the Year from other Roswell area schools, in a very nice annual lunch sponsored by the Roswell Kiwanis. Congrats, Emily and well-deserved! 9/11 Remembrance Once again, the front of Roswell High is adorned with almost 3,000 flags as we remember the victims of the attacks on our country on September 11, 2001. Thank you to Mrs. Boyd, Mrs. Hills and our PTSA, and all the students who worked to set up the display.

Thank You Thank you to everybody who came together to assist with the distribution of the Surface Tablets.
