The Principal Writes.. With just two weeks remaining now until the end of term, it is as busy as ever at the Collegiate and it is important that everyone remains focused on making the best use of this time, as well as preparing for the Christmas Concert and other festive celebrations. In particular, do Year in 2013/14 11 students should be working towards their PPEs in January.
The Principal Writes.. It is getting colder and so students are advised to dress warmly, but always in accordance with the uniform policy, e.g. no hoodies. In addition, now that it is becoming dark so quickly after school, students should take extra care on their journeys home, travelling together where possible and sticking to well-lit paths.
AIM Conference Years 7-9 Trip Students from Years 7-9 attended the inspirational AIM Maths Conference. The guest speakers talked about some of the more peculiar areas of mathematics; including Smoke Rings, Zombies and Cryptography.
The Merchant of Venice Workshop Day On Thursday 41 students from Beaumont and Kenley Primary schools participated in a Shakespeare Workshop and watched a performance of The Merchant of Venice in the @RC. Riddlesdown students helped lead the workshop, direct the primary school students and finally performed to them. Well done to everybody involved. You are all amazing!
Spanish Course for Parents of Pegasus & Orion Students Parents will have the opportunity to study topics such as greetings, booking hotels, ordering food at a restaurant and other useful vocabulary when travelling to Spain or Latin America. Length: 6 weeks commencing Monday 4th January from 5.45pm to 7.00 pm in O16. The course is free of charge however a small donation of 3 per lesson would be much appreciated. Achieving an A* in English Miss Barker and Miss Mallie will be hosting weekly afternoon seminars to help students achieve an A* in English. We would like to invite ALL Year 11 students from sets one and two, in both Orion and Aquila, to attend these sessions. The seminar will take place on Tuesday 8th December in O02 from 3.30pm until 4.10pm.
Christmas Concert Please could all music performers make sure you are checking the music schedule for rehearsals and performances. Make sure you attend each rehearsal punctually.
Pirates of Penzance There are no Pirates of Penzance rehearsals until after Christmas. Please make sure you are listening to the soundtrack and learning your lines as we will do a run of Act 1, Off Book, the first week back in January 2016.
Trampoline Squad Another successful competition weekend for the squad. Most of the girls were first time competitors and each had two fantastic routines in the U14 Girls Novice category of over 80 performers! George Malley 8STB had two outstanding routines gaining him 1st place in the U14 Boys intermediate category and he is through to the finals next month! Well done to all!

Girls Football Training Every Thursday from 3.25-4.25pm Crystal Palace Football Club are taking coaching sessions for girls in Years 8-11. This is a great opportunity for students to get coached by experienced CPFC girls coaches with an opportunity to play in local and national tournaments. All abilities are welcome.
Golf Coaching Golf coaching will take place at Riddlesdown from Monday 7th December from 3.25pm to 4.25pm with a Farleigh Golf Course professional coach.
