General Information Black Gold Reining reserves the right to cancel, transfer or reschedule the show and/or classes without notice or liability. In the event of cancellation of the show and/or classes by the Black Gold Reining, all entry fees will be refunded Inhumane treatment of horses will be grounds for disqualification, as will abusive treatment of officials and fellow competitors BLACK GOLD CLASSES All Black Gold (BG) classes may be ridden one or two handed in any legal NRHA headgear. Rider may not switch between 1 and 2 hands during the class. NO martingales, tie downs, nosebands, etc. will be accepted Ownership criteria does not apply in Black Gold classes All ties in Black Gold classes will be decided by a coin toss Bit checks will be done randomly, at the discretion of the judge There is no distinction between open and non pro riders Prizes to 3rd will be awarded in all Black Gold Classes Post entry/late fees are $10/entry/class Youth riders (18 and under) are not allowed to show stallions NRHA CLASSES Open to all breeds and grade horses All NRHA classes will follow the current NRHA Hand Book. For copies of these rules please visit www.nrha.com or contact the NRHA representative for information NRHA trophies and plaques will be awarded in all NRHA classes except youth classes It is the competitor s responsibility to be aware of their earnings and enter classes accordingly All payouts in NRHA classes will be as per the NRHA payout schedule Post entry/late fees are $20/entry/class for Ancillary classes and $50/entry/class for the Derby (4,5 & 6 yr olds) and 7 & Up classes All entries must be accompanied by a copy of the exhibitor s/owner s NRHA 2013 membership card, the horses NRHA competition license, and payment SHOW OFFICE & ENTRIES & MISC. Entries must be postmarked by July 5, 2012 to be considered on time All cheques are to be made payable to Black Gold Reining Altered entry forms will not be processed and will be returned to the sender Post entries will be accepted up to 1 hour prior to the class with the exception of the Derby and 7 & Up classes. Post entries will be accepted for the Derby and 7 & Up (Maturity) classes up to 10:00 pm the preceding day. Post entry fees will apply A $50 charge will be charged for all NSF cheques Black Gold Reining retains 45% of all NRHA class entry fees and 100% of all BG class entry fees Scratches accompanied by a vet certificate and received 5 days prior to the start of the show will receive their stall fees as a refund. No other refunds will be given All post entries will be put on the bottom of the draw An exhibitor cannot rider more than 3 horses per class All eligibility for all classes is considered as of Jan 1, 2013 Youth riders that are 12 and under as of the show dates must ride at all times (including showing) in a hard hat All riders must sign a Swartzy Performance Horses liability waiver prior to riding Riders must be in attendance to receive prizes Cheques will be mailed within 10 days of the end of the show Appropriate western attire must be worn (cowboy hat, long sleeve shirt, boots, jeans) Patterns for each class are noted in this show book. They will also be posted at the start of show day Move in time is after 12:00 pm, July 24, 2013 The show committee reserves the right to close the arena for maintenance at any time they deem necessary The show committee s decision on any matter, as it relates to a Black Gold event, is final All horses being ridden must be in full tack while on the grounds. Riding double or bareback is not allowed No lunging in the show pen or the main warm up pen Paid warm ups are on a first pay, first serve basis and are of a limited quantity. Max. 2 per horse being shown. Will be posted by July 19 th on swartzyhorses.ca under events Preferred stalling will be provided to volunteers, then it will be on a first come first serve basis. For groups stalling together, the latest entry submission of the group will be the date considered as the stall request date. There is 140 stalls approx. and should these be filled then panel stalls will be provided. All stalling is covered but some will be outside in tents

Swartzy Performance Horses AGREEMENT FOR ACCEPTANCE OF RISK AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY ADULTS I request permission to utilize the facilities owned, rented or leased by Swartzy Performance Horses (a division of Swartzy Welding Services Ltd.). I request permission to participate in horseback riding and other equestrian related activities organized and operated by Swartzy Performance Horses, Garry Schwerdt and/or Dallas Schwerdt. For consideration received, and in return for the use, today and on all future dates of the property facilities and services of Manager, Owner, Owner s heirs, assigns and representatives, agree to the following: Inherent Risks and Assumption of Risk: The undersigned acknowledges there are inherent risks associated with equine activities such as described below, and hereby expressly assumes all risks associated with participating in such activities. The inherent risks include, but are not limited to the propensity of equines to behave in ways such as running, bucking, biting, kicking, shying, stumbling, rearing, falling, or stepping on, that may result in an injury, harm or death to persons on or around them/ the unpredictability of equine s reaction to such things as sounds, sudden movement and unfamiliar objects, persons or animals; certain hazards such as surface and subsurface conditions; collisions with other animals; the limited availability of emergency medical care; and the potential of a participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to maintain control over the animal or not acting within such participant s ability. Owner/Rider acknowledges that horses, by their very nature are unpredictable and subject to animal whim. Owner/Rider assumes all risks in connection therewith, and expressly waives any claims for any injury or loss arising therefrom. Owner/Rider agrees to abide by and follow Manager s rules and regulations which, shall be posted and/or available from time to time. Owner/Rider further acknowledges that the behavior of any animal is contingent to some extent upon the ability of the Owner/Rider. Owner/Rider assumes all risks therefore and warrants a full and fair disclosure of Owner/Rider s abilities has been made to Stable. Owner/Rider/Spectator expressly releases Stable from any and all claims for personal injury or property damage, even if caused by negligence (if allowed by the laws of this province) by Stable, or its representatives, agents or employees. I wish to utilize the facilities and participate in activities, at or by Swartzy Performance Horses, knowing that they are dangerous. I accept and assume all risks of injury (including death) to me or my property. In exchange for being permitted to utilize facilities or participate in activities, at or by Swartzy Performance Horses, for myself, my heirs, guardians, and legal representatives, I release and agree not to make or bring any claim of any kind against, Swartzy Performance Horses, Swartzy Welding Services Ltd, or officials, servants, employees, representatives, officers and directors for any injury (including death), to me or any damage to my property, arising out of my participation in these dangerous horseback riding or related activities. It is highly recommended that all horseback riders wear protective headgear in the form of a high impact helmet, and footwear appropriate for riding is required by all riders. In exchange for my child being permitted to utilize facilities or participate in activities, at or by Swartzy Performance Horses, for myself, my heirs, guardians, and legal representatives, I release and agree not to make or bring any claim of any kind against, Swartzy Performance Horses, Swartzy Welding Services Ltd, or officials, servants, employees, representatives, officers and directors for any injury (including death), to my child or any damage to my property, arising out of my child s participation in these dangerous horseback riding or related activities. It is mandatory that all children under the age of 12 wear protective headgear in the form of a high impact helmet, and footwear appropriate for riding. I acknowledge as parent/guardian of that I have read and fully understand and agree to the terms and conditions stated herein and that it is binding upon my executors, heirs and assigns.
