Meetings will start in September. Currently working on a PRCPA website for meeting times, agendas, and minutes. For now, agenda and minutes will be sent via email. 3) Changes to organization by-laws We will not have team representatives except for the middle school team. Three signatures are required on checks for over $150.
Motion for change in bylaws: Motioned by Jennifer Kamenicky and seconded by Laura Abbate. Shelly Lindroos volunteered to be the MS team representative. Motioned by Jennifer Kamenicky and seconded by Tara Brandt. 4) Main cheer fundraisers a) Cheer Clinic Tentatively scheduled for 9/29/19. Girls in K through 6 th grade will cheer with varsity team for first half of game. b) Visitor Concession Stand at varsity football games In previous years, families have donated food and drinks to the concession stands. Due to changes in school policies, such as selling only Pepsi products, there was a motion to have a $30 donation per family for concessions. The motion was made by Jennifer Kamenicky and seconded by Shelly Lindroos. If families are unable to pay the concession fee due to hardship, please contact Jenn Doyle. Requests have been made to the PR Athletic Department for a new pretzel machine and a cooler. c) Parent volunteers are need for both the cheer clinic and concessions. In the past, the volunteer opportunities have varied based on team numbers. There was a motion to have varsity parents volunteer for the cheer clinic which allows those parents to watch their cheerleaders at the varsity games and the JV and MS parents volunteer for the football game concessions. The motion was made by Donna McWhirter and seconded by Michelle Cardinali. 5) Senior Night In previous years, the senior cheerleaders participated in Senior Night with the football team and basketball teams. Since the same teams cheer for both football and basketball, it was suggested that the cheerleaders only participate in one of the Senior Nights. The motion was to participate with the football players and not the basketball players. The motion was made by Krissy Czerski and seconded by Lisa Casario.
6) Kick Off Party Save the date. The cheerleaders will attend a kick-off party with the football teams at the high school stadium on Sunday, 8/13/17. More information will be distributed in August. 7) Treasurer s Notes The 2017-2018 budget was provided to all in attendance at the meeting. The budget was approved by a motion made by Tara Brandt and seconded by Beth Clegg. Fees for the 2017-2018 season are due at uniform distribution. The fees include a registration fee of $125, $200 for camp gear, and the $30 concession fee. If a family has more than one cheerleader, the registration fee and camp gear fees are per girl. The concession donation is per family. Checks should be made payable to PRCPA. 8) Coaches Notes: Varsity Coach Mary Francis Egyed Monday practices are all squad practices. Coach Egyed has requested that no moms are involved in the uniform distribution. There will be a big sister / little sister program this year to help with unity between all teams. Tumbling will start the week of 5/15/17. The HS and MS competition teams will tumble on Tuesdays from 3:00 4:30pm. Sideline will tumble on Wednesdays from 3:00 4:30pm. Cheerleaders who were on a school team this year do not have to pay for tumbling for the month of May since the cost is included in the tumbling fee paid at the beginning of the year. The cost for new cheerleaders is $12.50 a session. Dana Thomas will run the practices. Cheerleaders will pay her directly for each session. Summer tumbling will be held in June and July. Every girl will pay $12.50 per session to Dana Thomas. The practice schedule for the 2017-2018 season is: Varsity: Mondays 5:00 pm 6:30pm JV: Tuesdays 5:30pm 7:00pm MS: Mondays 6:00 7:30pm Tumbling Competition teams: Tuesdays 3:00pm 4:30pm Tumbling Sideline teams: Wednesdays 3:00pm 4:30pm The cost for tumbling for 2017 2018 will be $125 per girl. A check is due to Dana Thomas prior to 8/14/17.
9) Uniform Distribution: The board will be sending a checklist of requirements for each team. The girls must bring the checklist and the items they already have on the list to uniform handouts. If the girls do not bring the items, they will be ordered for them. Varsity 5/8/17 at 5:00pm JV 5/15/17 at 5:00pm MS 5/23/17 at 5:00pm Scheduled for Tuesday due to conflicts with lacrosse Competition teams TBA 10) New fundraiser: The high school competition team will be holding a mini stunt camp for girls going in to K 6 th grade on June 15 th and 16 th. The two-day camp will cost $35. The girls will learn stunts and a cheer. There will be a short performance on Friday at the end of the camp. The information for the camp will be displayed at each of the elementary schools. The camp will also be included in the summer camp information sent out by the school district. 11) Volunteer Opportunities: Sign ups were held for various events for the 2017-2018 season. Spots are still available. Please email Tonya Haas if you would like to volunteer. Concession signs up will be in August.
