The mounting d irections are identical for marking and drilling the holes as described in the i nstallation instructions below.
For further riser stabili zation please consider burying a pipe o r bar next to the supply pipes so you can secure the liquid and vapor lines to it to get a more solid r iser as illustrated in the photo below. This is not required if one of your supply p ipes is at least 2 sch. 80 pi pe. If one of your supply pipes is not at least 2 sch. 80 p ipe then this is required. What to do when a pull away occurs Caution: ALWAYS WEAR APPROPRIATE SAFE TY EQUIPMENT WHILE FOLLOWING THE P ROCEDURE BELOW. 1. P ut on appropriate gloves, goggles a nd breathing equipment. 2. C lose all Liquid and vapor line valves on the riser. 3. Close all val ves on the nurse tank that t he riser hoses a re attached to w hen t he pull away occurred. Caution: There is going to be liquid ammonia trapped in the hose lines that are still attached to the nurse tank that pulled away with the hoses attached, p lease t ake extreme caution while around these hoses. Wear safety e quipment at all times. 4. C lose all hose end valves that are attached to the nurse tank that was i nvolved in the pull away. 5. B leed down the liquid and vapor line connection between the hose lin e valves a nd the tanks filler and vapor valves. 6. D isconnect the liquid and vapor hose line valves from the nurse tank. 7. B leed down the liquid and vapor lines that were involved in the pull away b y s ubmerging the valve into a container of water and slowly opening t he hose end valves to drain the ammonia out of the hoses. C aution: Please be aware of the wind direction and your surroundings so t hat you do not endanger yourself or anyon e else. 8. R emove the broken shear body from the end of the hose. Caution: Be mindful t hat ammonia can still be t rapped in the hose. 9. Open the bleeder valve located on the shear inlet body and drain the a mmonia from the unit. Wait several mi nutes to completely drain. Caution: Please be aware that the bleeder valves bleed hole is pointed down s o when it is opened the ammonia will vent toward the ground. 10. A fter draining the ammonia there might still be some ammonia trapped in t he inlet body, as a precaution use a long p iece of steel or wood and tap on the body several times to see if there is any ammonia left in the unit. I k now this sounds strange but better safe than sorry. 11. Unscrew the RSS-N UT and remove the broke n shear piece. Caution: Be m indful t hat ammonia can still be present so please be careful.
