POKER SHOOT WILL REPLACE AUGUST 15 BATTLE-RATTLE There is a rumor floating around about the Rattle Battle not taking place. Well folks it is true, but there is a Poker Shoot taking it's place. We are going to have the first Poker Shoot, and you can use your rim fire rifles. Do to the cost of ammunition we want to try something new. We will be shooting from the 50 yard marker, shooting at playing cards, there will be "Wild Cards" and" Poison Cards". This will be the first time, and we will see how popular this event is. We encourage using Iron Sights, but will accept scopes, the format will be similar to CMP shoot. This will be a "Run what you Brung" event, there will be no club guns available for this shoot. We will use 50 rounds for the match, shooting will be timed and done from prone, sitting, and off hand positions. Speaking of club guns, in the future the cost of using a club gun for a match will be raised from $30 to $40, to help off set the cost of ammunition. The cost will be $10 per person for the "Poker Shoot", we will start at 8 am on Saturday August 15. Bring a shooting mat or something to lay on,eye protection and hearing protection. So put on your best Poker Face and we will see you there. If you are planning to attend call Gene Herrman at 269-465-5026, to get an idea how many poker targets will be needed. IDPA shoots are the second Saturday of each month. Shooting runs from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Come on out and see what it is all about. 2015 Cmp, & military bolt shoot schedule Following is the 2015 Civilian Marksman Program shoots for 2015 at the Berrien County Sportsman s Club: CMP SHOOT Sept 19, 8:00 a.m. MILITARY BOLT Oct 4, 8:00 a.m. For questions, or further information call Gene Herrman at 465-5026. Berrien county sportsman s club needs you! There are several opportunities over the next few months to serve your Club. This is an excellent way to meet members and to learn of the different activities offered by the Club. 1. Elections for next year s officers will be held at the December membership meeting. The Club will again host of the largest gatherings of traditional bowhunters next June, when The Compton s Traditional Bowhunters Rendezvous takes place on our Club grounds: Volunteer to run the Pavilion food service during the three day event: order food, put together a kitchen crew, and ramrod one of the most popular rendezvous activities. Volunteer to run the Campground: check registrations, sell ice and firewood, and talk with traditional archers from all parts of the United States. Let Jay Steinhauser know of your interest in being part of the Compton Rendezvous next year. It is environmentally friendly and nontoxic to animals and humans. Once sprayed on an area, it kills not only mosquitoes but ants, spiders, deer flies and many other bugs and lasts for 10-14 days. I have tried this at home and have recaptured my backyard for enjoyable activities both day and evening hours. I simply buy a 16 ounce bottle from BROOK- SIDE NURSERY for $19.99 that makes 250 gallons of Spray and put 3 capfuls into my two gallon sprayer that I purchased from PATER TRUE VALUE HARDWARE for $19.99, add water and spray the area around where I plan to use. It is as simple as that and it works. You will no longer need to contend withexpensive repellents, smoke or foggers. 9
