1 SANCTION: This meet is sanctioned by USA Swimming and Indiana Swimming. Sanction #IN16327 HOST: Carmel Swim Club 300 E. Main Street Suite E Carmel, IN 46032 POOL: Eric Clark Activity Center Carmel High School Natatorium 520 East Main Street Carmel, Indiana 46032 FACILITY: Competition Pool: One 50-meter pool with 8 nine-foot wide lanes, each with competitor non-turbulent lane markers. Colorado Time System 6 will be used. For Friday/Saturday evenings and Saturday/Sunday mornings, lanes 1-7 will be utilized for competition, with lane 8 reserved for warm-up/warm-down. For Saturday/Sunday afternoons, there will be no separate warm-up/warm-down facilities and competition will take place in 8 lanes. In the event of circumstances necessitating changes during the meet, information will be updated on the Carmel Swim Club website www.carmelswimclub.org. Balcony spectator seating is available. USA swimming competition pool rules The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). Where a moveable bulkhead is used, course measurement of the lane in which the record was set (American, US Open, or National Age Group Records) must be confirmed at the conclusion of the session during which the time was achieved. The depth of the competition pool measures from the south end to a distance of 15 meters ranges from 6 to 12 feet. Beyond 15 meters the competition pool is a uniform depth of 5 feet. PARKING: Free parking is available in the lots adjacent to Carmel High School. Additional parking is available north of the pool at the football stadium lot (approximately 1/3 mile). Meet attendees may not park on school grounds prior to 3:30pm Friday, May 6. Team buses may load and unload at the Natatorium entrance (Building Entrance 21) and are required to park at the football stadium parking lot due north of the Aquatics Center.

2 RULES: Current USA Swimming and Indiana Swimming rules will govern this meet. USA Swimming Rules 202.5.2- At a sanctioned competitive event, USA Swimming athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee shall assist the athlete in making arrangements for such supervision. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Coaches must constantly display their current USA Swimming coach credential to gain deck access. The meet referee reserves the right to ask for coach credential display and/or deny deck access if coach does not comply or card is no longer valid/current. In swimming competitions, the competitor must wear only one swimsuit in one or two pieces except as provided in USA Swimming rule 205.10.1. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials. For men, the swimsuit shall not extend above the navel nor below the knees, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below the knee. Any kind of tape on the body is not permitted unless approved by the meet referee. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. ELIGIBILITY: Age as of May 6, 2016 shall determine age for the meet. All swimmers must be currently registered with USA Swimming. These registration numbers must accompany entry. Indiana Swimming does not process on-site registrations. MEET FORMAT: All events are TIMED FINALS. There will be no penalties for missed events, other than not being allowed to swim the event. The Friday evening session consists of the following age groups: 11-12 and Open events. The Saturday and Sunday morning sessions consist of the following age group events: Open. The Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions consist of the following age group events: 11-12, 10 & Under. The Carmel Swim Club reserves the right to limit the number of heats in all events to keep the time line manageable. There will be refunds for any limited event. Limits will be posted to the Carmel Swim Club website Tuesday May 3, 2016. Carmel Swim Club reserves the right to use chase starts and/or fly-over starts for all events.

3 POSITIVE CHECK-IN: Positive Check-in means I am here and I intend to swim this event. All events require positive check-in. Deadlines: Friday Events 4:15 P.M. Saturday/Sunday Morning Events 7:10 A.M. Saturday/Sunday Afternoon Events 12:10 P.M Positive check-in sheets will be located in the west hallway near the locker rooms as you enter the pool on the deck level. All swimmers not declaring intent to swim via positive check-in will be scratched. Since the number of heats may be limited, failure to check-in may jeopardize your opportunity to swim your events. ENTRIES & LIMITS: No team entry will be broken. Each swimmer will be limited to four (4) individual events per session. If an entry is submitted with an individual entered in more events than this rule allows, the entry will be made by order of events starting with Event #1 until the rule is satisfied. This meet typically fills very quickly and CSC reserves the right to determine which entries to accept. Among the items CSC will consider when making these determinations are: Teams will not be broken, number of officials and volunteers provided by the team, balance of age group and gender in entry, level of competition and geographic location. ENTRY FEES: All fees must accompany entry. Please make check payable to:. Individual events: $4.00 per individual event. There is also a $2.00 per swimmer, per meet, Indiana Swimming surcharge, which must accompany each entry. DECK ENTRIES: Deck entries for individual events will be accepted if the meet is not filled, at the discretion of the Carmel Swim Club and space permitting. We will not create new heats for deck entries. Deck entries will be accepted until positive checkin deadlines (see times above) for each session. Deck entries will be entered with no times. Entry fee for deck entries is $8 per individual event. No deck entries permitted for events which have been limited. ENTRY ACCEPTANCE AND DEADLINES: This meet traditionally fills quickly! Entries will be accepted starting 8:00 AM, Monday, April 18, 2016 The entry deadline will be Friday, April 22, 2016 The entry deadline will be extended if the meet does not fill. Teams not accepted will be notified by Monday, April 25, 2016 Updated information can be found at www.carmelswimclub.org

4 ENTRY PROCEDURE: Submit all entries via the Internet after 8:00 A.M., April 18, 2016 in a USA Swimming approved SDIF file format recognized by Hytek s Meet Manager. The final entry date for entries to be received is 5:00 P.M., April 22, 2016. NOTE: Any hard copy information and/or floppy disks sent to the Entry Chair in addition to the required information WILL BE DISREGARDED. Only entry information sent via the Internet will be considered as your team's entry. Floppy disks sent to the Entry Chair become property of Carmel Swim Club. 1. Create a standard meet entry file on your computer (CL2, HY3, SDIF, or SD3) Files may be either zipped or unzipped. Teams without access to Team Manager or other appropriate software should contact the Meet Entry Chair. 2. Send an E-mail to the Meet Entry Chair at: Bethany Burchill (bburchill@carmeldadsclub.org) 3. The title of the E-mail shall include the following: CSC Spring Fling Entries for [insert full name of Club and Club code] 4. Include in the body of the e-mail: Full Team Name Team Club code Full LSC Name LSC abbreviation The name of the person submitting the entry and their title A contact phone number with area code for the person submitting the entry A mailing address Optional: Any secondary e-mail address you wish to be included as a club contact 5. Attach your entry file to the entry. Files may be zipped or un-zipped 6. The Entry Chair will send you a return e-mail confirming your entry was received. This e-mail does not indicate that your club has been accepted into the meet. 7. Immediately report any problems entering to the Meet Entry Chair. Your team will not be penalized or rejected from the meet if you experience technical difficulties. 8. Other entry rules: Current and correct Swimming ID numbers must be supplied with your entry for every swimmer. (Foreign athletes not currently registered with USA Swimming should submit the registration number assigned to them by their country s FINA member organization) Athletes without proper registration will be denied participation in this meet. No times and non-conforming times will be accepted. Non-conforming times will be converted by Hy-Tek Meet Manager and will be seeded with the conforming times accordingly. Your electronic entry file must include all team information regarding your coach's name(s), team address, team phone number and team e-mail address. Those teams that do not include this information will not be accepted into the meet until all of the required information is provided Note: First-come, first-served is not listed in the meet acceptance criteria below

5 If the meet is over-entered, CSC has sole discretion to determine which entries to accept. In exercising its discretion, CSC will consider: ONCE ACCEPTED: Prior participation in this or other CSC hosted meets (exclusive of State Championships) Teams will not be broken Number of officials and volunteers provided by team Balance of age groups and gender in entry Level of competition Geographic location When your team is accepted into the meet, please perform the following tasks: 1. CSC will Email back to the designated individual an Entry Report for your team. Carefully check this Entry Report and report any errors or variances by e-mail as soon as possible. Deadline for changes is 5:00PM, April 25, 2016). Keep this original Entry Report sent to you by CSC along with all subsequent Entry Reports notifying you of changed or updated entries. These are the official record of your team's entry. No other information will be considered if there is an entry error or discrepancy. No refunds or changes will be made to your team's entry due to failure to review reports sent to you by CSC. 2. Mail the following so it will be received by the Entry Chair on or before 5:00 PM (Indianapolis time) April 22, 2016: Executed release and hold harmless agreement (included in this packet) Your Fees. The Entry Chair will use the information provided by Hytek s Meet Manager to determine if the fees submitted are equal to the amount required for the entries in their system. If you have not submitted the correct amount, the Entry Chair will contact you via e-mail to arrange subsequent payment to cover your required fees. All fees must be paid prior to the start of the Friday session or you team will be scratched from the meet. Awards will not be mailed. Lane assignments will be posted at various points around the pool. We highly encourage coaches to cover check-in and meet procedures with their new swimmers and parents. Per USA Swimming insurance liability, ABSOLUTELY NO PARENTS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK. CONCESSIONS: Concessions will be available at the concession stand on the second level lobby. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING IS PERMITTED IN THE BUILDING. ADMISSION: Admission will be charged for upstairs balcony-seating. Children 10 and under will be admitted free of charge. Heat sheets will be sold at the beginning of each session, once the meet is seeded following positive check-in. If you have a member that is in charge of your officials please provide his/her name & e-mail address on the entry summary form where requested. FACILITY NOTE: The Carmel High School Natatorium is a state of the art facility. It is important that all people attending this meet, whether swimmers, coaches, or spectators, treat this facility with the utmost care. The following rules will be strictly enforced: 1) Keep all trash picked up (swimmers and teams in particular) 2) Do not go, or let children go, in unauthorized areas. This means any place other than the lobby, seating areas, or spectator s restrooms. Due to USA Swimming insurance requirements ONLY SWIMMERS, COACHES, OFFICIALS AND VOLUNTEERS ARE ALLOWED ON DECK. THERE CAN BE NO EXCEPTIONS! 3) The Carmel Swim Club will have security persons patrolling the deck and locker room areas. If any swimmer is caught abusing the building or facility, they will immediately be asked to leave the meet and will be barred from further competition. Damages incurred become the responsibility of the swim club of the violator.
