It is a rotating league where we shoot at different clubs the first weekend of each month. The program is 50 targets. You can record your scores on either Saturday or Sunday, whichever is most convenient for you. In addition to your league scores you can also compete for high gun honors each day, the Bonbright and Stein/Hayes competitions. The schedule for this year's league is as follows: September 6 th 7 th - Lima Gun Club October 4 th 5 th - Mendon Conservation Club October 18 th 19 th - Holfield Gun Club November 1 st 2 nd - Rochester Brooks Gun Club December 6 th 7 th - Newark Rod and Gun Club January 3 rd 4 th - Four Point Rod and Gun Club February 7 th 8 th - Outlet Rod and Gun Club March 7 th 8 th - Walworth Sportsman's Club March 28 th 29 th - Victor Rod and Gun Club May 2 nd 3 rd - Ontario Rod and Gun Club June Date and place to be determined - Awards Banquet We re looking for additional shooters to complement Team: Ontario in the league. You don't have to be a super shooter to participate in this program. The league is designed for you to compete at different clubs and meet new people. It is a fun league! If you need further information contact Bill Palermo who can answer your questions. Bill is at the club every Tuesday for open shooting or you can contact him at (585) 458-5398 or by email at clayshtr@frontiernet.net. HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE TO BE OFFERED The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is offering a Hunter Education Course at the Ontario Rod and Gun Club on September 17 th, 19 th and 20 th. Registration for the class is now being done a little bit differently in that you must register online. To register for the upcoming education course (GUN) to be held at the Ontario Rod and gun club please follow the instructions listed below: Logon to the DEC website: http://www.registered.com/programs/new York. Under ACTIVE PROGRAMS scroll down to Hunter Education Course and click on the Viewing Upcoming Events box located in the upper right-hand corner. Scroll down through all the listed courses (called events) until you find the course starting September 17 at the Ontario Rod and Gun Club, Ontario, NY. Click on the View Event box in the upper right-hand corner and confirm this is the course you want and then click on the Register Box in the upper righthand corner. If there are still seats available for the course the Register Box will be green. Fill in the electronic registration form completely and register for the course. After you have registered for the course, you can pick up your Hunter Education Manual at the Ontario Town Hall Office. Read the manual as there will be a written test. Please note; potential students will not be able to actually register for the course until August 29 (that fact will be identified with the course description). ARE YOU REGISTERED TO VOTE? Election day, November 4th, is coming near. Are you registered to vote? Governor Cuomo needs to be booted out of office along with his cronies so that our freedoms can be restored in New York State. If you are registered to vote, please make every effort to make it to the polls to cast your vote. Do you have a neighbor who doesn t have a way to get to the polls? Offer to take him/ her to the polls so they can cast their votes. It is vitally important that we send a message to Albany that we have had enough of their malarkey. It is time that these senators and congressmen really do represent the people and not their special interests. It is also time for term limits. Make your voice be heard. Get out and VOTE. Not yet registered to vote? We have voter registration forms at the club house. Come pick one up and get registered. Every vote is important for this November s election.
