PRAYlike no one s listening SERVElike no one s watching GIVElike no one s counting FROM THE DESK OF MRS. LA SALLE November 1, 2016 Dear Parents: Welcome to November! It may be a short month but it is a busy month. We began the month today with Mass to celebrate All Saints Day. Our Eighth Graders will take the COOP Entrance Exam on the 11 th. Our Tricky Tray is on the 17 th. And let us not forget November 8 th. - Election Day. Let s keep the candidates in our prayers and ask God to help us choose wisely! We recently had our own election here at SMS. As you know, Allison Chorba is now teaching our Little Friars class and needed to step-down from her position as President of the Home & School Association. Our new President is Aneta Ferreira, mother of Xenia in Grade 3. I m sure you will all support Aneta as we work together to make the school year a success! Many, many thanks to Allison Chorba for her dedication to our school!! As many of you know a Sports Program for our students has been on my Wish List for several years. I am thrilled to say that Karyn and Anthony Evgenikos, new members of our school family, would like to coordinate the Program. The Evgenikos daughter, Jessica, joined our second grade last week. Karyn and Anthony coordinated the Sports Program in their previous school and are willing to share their time and talent with us! Of course, you know that much help is needed to put a Program together. I have included a questionnaire/sign-up flyer in this packet. Please complete this form so that we can assess the interest level and return it to me as soon as possible, and no later than Friday, November 4th. Please return all Unicef boxes to school. There is no Liturgy tomorrow morning. Upcoming Events: Saturday, 11/5-Sunday, 11/6 Clothing Drive Have a great week! Sincerely, Mrs. La Salle

SCRIP NEWS Thank you to all the families that have been participating. Some families have already accrued over $100 in rebates since July 1! Some families have signed up to do a $500 buyout. We at the ShopScrip committee ask you to reconsider. ShopScrip is the #1 fundraiser that doesn t require additional spending from you. The school earns rebates from the stores you already shop at. Take a moment and look at www.shopwithscrip.com. Checkout all the retailers that are part of the program. You will be impressed! A weekly ShopScrip order with a total rebate of $5 until school ends in June will easily achieve $150 rebate. The following table is an example of how your daily shopping will benefit the school through the ShopScrip program. These are spending averages for a month. Average Rebate Spending per Month Rebate per year Grocery 4% $250 $100 Gas 2% $75 $15 Dinning Out 8% $50 $40 Home Improvement 4% $50 $20 Clothing 8% $30 $24 Movies 8% $20 $16 Total $475 $215

Paper orders must be sent to school by Monday morning for them to be ready for pickup on Friday. Take a few minutes and create an account on www.shopwithscrip.com so that you may place your orders on line and not worry about sending forms to school. At the bottom of this flyer, you will find the St Mary s enrollment code so that you can register. Orders can be picked up on Friday mornings during drop off or Friday afternoons during pick up. If you require alternate options to pick up the cards, send us an e- mail and we will be happy to help. Some choices can be designating another family to pick up for you or the cards can also be sent to aftercare. (We all face logistics situations on a daily basis so don t be shy to ask for help. We are all parents of children who have to be in different places at the SAME time!) Inventory will be sold Monday mornings, Friday mornings and Friday afternoons.
