1. Executive Summary An unprecedented opportunity exists to secure one of only ten exclusive Hospitality Packages for the RASC Conference in Brisbane being held 14 th 24 th October. The Event will be attended by Princess Anne, HRH The Princess Royal, President of RASC. The RASC is the voice of Agriculture within the Commonwealth. The Hospitality Package has been designed to provide you with exclusive networking, marketing and branding opportunities throughout the 10 day event. 250+ delegates, CEOs, Board Members, Council Members and Show Society Members will be in attendance from 21 countries and all areas of the Commonwealth. 2. The RASC Conference The RASC Conference is held every two years and brings delegates from the Confederation of 48 show societies across 21 countries. In 2014, the RNA is proud to be hosting the conference, from the 14 th 24 th October. The importance of the event is underscored by the attendance of Princess Anne HRH The Princess Royal, President of the RASC. The RASC Conference represents a significant opportunity to showcase Brisbane, Southeast Queensland, the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) and our agricultural industry. The conference is designed to provide delegates with: An opportunity to engage with leading members of Queensland s agricultural sectors; Showcase its finest produce; Reflect our diverse industry portfolio and landscape; and Stimulate a knowledge exchange between societies by developing strong community relations and new lines of business which secure longevity. 3. Introducing RASC The Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth (RASC) RASC was founded in 1957 by Patron, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh KG KT, and 12 international Agricultural Societies at the Royal Norfolk Show. The RASC is the voice of agriculture in the Commonwealth Patron: HRH The Duke of Edinburgh KG KT President: HRH The Princess Royal Deputy President: David Thomas Chairman of the Board: The Rt Hon Lord Vestey DL. THE RASC is a classic Civil Society representing agriculture showing what groups and individuals can do together, voluntarily, for the good of everyone. Sponsorship proposal 5
4. Conference Theme and Program The theme for the 2014 conference is based on the Sustainability of Agricultural Shows. The conference aim is to highlight : - Australian agricultural innovation and practice; - Sustainability of royal show societies; - Urbanisation; and - Engagement of a changing market audience. A pre-conference tour is being arranged for delegates. The tour enables delegates to experience firsthand the various aspects of rural Queensland. It is anticipated that there will be 80-100 guests who participate in this pre-conference tour. Sponsorship proposal 6
5. The Next Generation The RASC has encouraged the involvement of youth in its activities for many years. Since 2004, the concept of the RASC Next Generation was formed, and has since flourished. The Next Generation Strategic Intentions are to: Develop an international network and support system that will foster the collaboration and exchange of ideas between the NG delegation Advocate NG leadership within the RASC and its member societies Support the RASC in achieving its own aims and objectives Achieve tangible and measurable results within the commonwealth countries From sponsorship, a number of bursaries will be made to assist a number of Next Generation members to attend the conference It is estimated that more than 50 Next Generation members will attend the event. 7. Additional Information Elements of the package can be tailored to suit the specific needs of your organisation. Our sponsorship and events team can work with you to fully leverage this opportunity. Artwork deadline for all printed materials is 31 st August, 2014 Additional attendees to events and sessions can be arranged for an additional per head cost. There are only five of these Hospitality Packages available for the entire event. The Hospitality package is listed in Australian dollars. All payments must be made in Australian dollars.
