We realise it is difficult getting up and organised on wet/cold mornings, however it is important that our students arrive at school on time in class by 8.45am. This sets them up for a successful day, tuned into the learning plan, being organised, settled and ready to learn. We ask for your support with ensuring the students are present and ready for class by 8.45am. Book Week This week we have enjoyed our visiting author, Patrick Guest and today we have also had fun dressing up as our favourite book characters. We have more information and pictures on pages 3 and 4. Year 3/4 Mass Tomorrow A reminder that our 3/4 Friday Mass has been cancelled due to Father Andrew being unavailable. We will now hold a liturgy in Brigid Hall at 11.30. All welcome. Father s Day Stall Our Annual Father s Day Stall is to be held next Thursday 30th August. Thanks to 1/2 Mum s for organising the Stall. Some great gifts are available for purchase. Children are asked to bring a bag to school with them on Thursday so they can hide their gifts to take home. A catch up stall will be held straight after the Father s Day Breakfast on Friday. Father s Day Breakfast An invitation to our Annual Father s Day Breakfast has been sent out on Caremonkey inviting all our Dad s to join us for breakfast next Friday 31st August. We are looking forward to seeing lots of our Dad s and their children enjoying being spoilt for Father s Day. We ask that families RSVP via Caremonkey by Wednesday 29 August for catering purposes. We celebrated Book Week with a dress up parade this morning with great success and the students looking fabulous dressed as their favourite children s book characters. Betty the story dog even made a cameo appearance as Wally! On Monday the author Patrick Guest visited us and entertained the students with his wonderful picture story books The Second Sky and The Ricker Racker Club. The Prep to 6 Students really enjoyed his visit and the stories he shared, especially the whole school assembly where we were all brave enough to be accepted into The Ricker Racker Club. Classes are currently reading Alice s Adventures in Wonderland We will celebrate this with a Family Movie Night watching the 1951 Disney movie- Friday 7th September at 6.00pm. Come along, bring your dinner and a seat and enjoy this family classic. Remember the School Movie Night presenting Walt Disney s Alice in Wonderland is in the calendar for Friday 7 September 6-8pm.
