Eligibility needs to be checked as spring grades come in. June is the month when college staffs hold camps to allow players to come show what they can do. We have kids traveling all over the Midwest to get a chance to work out for the college coaches. We are coaching our position kids each week and beginning to condition the players for the coming heat of camp and two a- days. Final touches have to be added to the summer calendar. Final planning of camp days and installation schedules takes place in June. Everything that we have done over the winter to prepare for the coming season is double checked in June because in July it will be time to execute the plan. As 7 on 7 opportunities begin in June, we can begin to actually discuss scheme and personnel. We don t discuss personnel until now because we don t have a way of knowing which players will be with us until now. This is the first time when personnel and scheme can be compared to the original planning that was done in the winter. We compare our weight room numbers from the year this month. We have more players who are stronger than we have had in our previous years. We have had nearly 3,000 workouts done since December!! As June ends, the coaches become like expectant fathers waiting for the baby to come. We are itching to get going. Seven months of long meetings, workouts and planning are now complete and soon we begin to go to work with the kids. Touchdown Club begins to feel the excitement of the coming season as June comes. We have raised many of the dollars that we need. There is just one big fund raiser coming and then it is go time for them also. I hope you will find time to join us as we serve our kids!!
