Page 2 of 5 3 ADOPTION OF MINUTES - April 20, 2016 EDC Meeting Minutes Resolution #013-16 (Magalas, Christie) THAT the April 20, 2016 EDC Meeting Minutes be adopted as amended. 4 PRESENTATIONS - Leeds Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centres - Jeannette Johnston 5 BUSINESS Wendy Onstein Manager, Lead Consultant for LGSBEC presented a Powerpoint of the services their resource centre provides to people interested in starting and sustaining a business in the community. - Family Cycling Event Councillor Leakey provided further information regarding the Family cycling event on June 4, 2016 at 9:00 am. She spoke about contact made at the high schools to see if there would be interest in students playing live music at some of the checkpoints throughout the route. Councillor Last provided an overview of the promotional material collected at the "Share the Road" workshop, that will be given to the cyclists: * Cycling Ontario Magazine * Bicycle Friendly Communities Yearbook * Passports * Maps

Page 3 of 5 - Investment Readiness Subcommittee Update Ms. Graham provided that the Committee is at a standstill at the moment, and requested further guidance from the Committee in order to move this initiative forward via the sub-committee. Ms. Graham requested that they hold another subcommittee meeting with staff support to reconstruct the document originally drafted. Mayor Baptista stated that himself, as a Council representative, staff members Katie Nolan, and the other subcommittee members will have a meeting to review the process and move this initiative forward. - Agricultural Information Session Update Mr. Lynch provided an update on the Agricultural Information Session scheduled for December 2016. He spoke about potential speakers: * Wendy Banks - to speak about local food * Chris Wooding - to speak about general production and agritourism. * Ag Canada or Farm credit canada - large scare production * Charlie Forman - Cash Cropping or horticulturist Mayor Baptista talked about placing these items and topics into verticals (seed, feed, equipment) and develop a SWOT analysis from the session to help move their businesses forward. Mr. Horton stated that it may be beneficial to hold this session annually. Councillor Last spoke about the Environmental Advisory Committee and how to keep them informed of this initiative. Mr. Lynch will reach out to the Environmental Technologist.

Page 4 of 5 - Outdoor Activity Promotion Group Ms. Magalas provided an update on the brainstorming session of the working group for the Outdoor Activity Subcommittee. The groups mandate includes what specific initiatives the Township need to fulfill to move events forward as they relate to outdoor activity (biking, cycling and kayaking) in the Township. The next meeting is Tuesday May 24, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the St. Lawrence Medical Centre. Ms. Graham suggested that the Township website include links on our website directing people to sites that provide information in this area such as Thousand Islands national parks. Councillor Last expressed interest on sitting on the working group. Mr. Childs spoke about a page on the Township website outlining business ideas and opportunities for residents of the Township. The Committee spoke about eventually including this item on the Township's Economic Development Page, as it develops. 6 INFORMATION ITEMS - Council Update Mayor Baptista and Councillor Jackson provided the Council Update: * New Website * Facilities Master Plan Meetings * Share the Road Coalition

Page 5 of 5 Resolution #014-16 (Jackson, Hipwell) THAT the EDC recommends that Council supports the letter from the Executive Director of the Share the Road Coalition regarding funding for Cycling Infrastructure; AND THAT the EDC recommends that Council facilitate communication with the County regarding their Road Maintenance plan to include paved shoulders to promote cycling throughout the Township and County; FURTHER THAT the EDC recommends that the Township Council consider a similar provision in their Road Maintenance Plan. - Community Events Chamer of Commerce Open House June 11 Plant sales throughout the Township Mr. Dobing s celebration of life Fundraiser for Fort McMurray at the Municipal office at the fire department saturday Art Fair - Rockport 7 ADJOURNMENT Resolution #015-16 (Graham, Hipwell) THAT the EDC adjourn.
