Candidate Eligibility Attending Farley for the 2017-2018 school year GPA maintained at 70 or above All forms signed and turned in by Wednesday, February 15th Medically fit to participate in cheerleading/ mascot activities Requires physical No previous academic or disciplinary probation.
Candidate Expectations Representative of the school, their student body, and Hutto ISD and will be held to the highest moral standards Should be responsible, honest, dependable, respectful, dedicated, and loyal. Should be enthusiastic, self-disciplined, willing to learn, and prepared to practice to improve their performance and the performance of the squad. Should understand that the schedule of a mascot and cheerleader member will require a large time commitment.

Important Cheer Dates 2 Day Clinic FMS Gym Feb. 15th & February 16th 4:15 pm to 5:30 pm Required to attend ALL days to be eligible for cheer tryout Cheer Candidates will be released at 5:30pm through the gym doors in back parking lot Tryouts February 17th 3:30pm - Finished Uniform Fitting/New Team Member & Parent Meeting February 22nd 4pm - 6pm Fitting 6pm - 7:30 Meeting Bring spanks and sports bra
Cheer Clinic Expectations - Candidates will go over cheer motions, jumps, cheers, dance, and the tryout sequence - Available prior to clinic - Learn tryout CHEER and DANCE. - After School - Contestants should go directly to the gym and change in the locker rooms - If you bring a snack, please eat it in the lobby after you change - Be in the gym and ready to learn by 4:15pm
Mascot Clinic Expectations - Candidates will practice with the Mascot Suit - create a 1 minute routine to music (props are encouraged) - After School - Contestants should go directly to the gym and change in the locker rooms - If you bring a snack, please eat it in the lobby after you change - Be in the gym and ready to learn by 4:10pm
Cheer/Mascot Clinic Attire -Wear athletic attire. -Shorts or spanks -NO JEWELRY or gum. -Tennis shoes are required. (please wear cheer shoes if you have them) -Hair up in a ponytail with all hair pinned back.
Cheer/Mascot Tryout Day Cheerleading shoes or athletic shoes Candidates will be given time to get ready after school. Tryouts will start by 3:30pm Please bring homework or something to work on while you wait Parents are more than welcome to come and wait with candidates in cafeteria Cheer Specific: Plain black t-shirt or tank top (no camisoles or spaghetti straps) Girls must wear a sports bra! Plain black shorts (or spandex) Bow (Orange, White, Black, or combination) with hair pulled securely in a ponytail. For hair that is too short to wear in a ponytail, ½ up with a bow is permitted. Cheer Tryout Selection Format Grades 20% of Score Points awarded for 70% and higher Judging 80% of Score Judges from TAC & HMS Scores Sorted Highest to Lowest Natural point break Cheer: Not to exceed 30 Notification of Selection posted on the website We ask that candidates stay until the last person tries out.
Mascot Tryout Selection Format Judging Based On: 80% of score skit delivery skit creativity animation use of props Grades 20% of Score Points awarded for 80% and higher Scores Sorted Highest to Lowest Natural point break Mascot: Not to exceed 2 Notification of Selection posted on the website We ask that candidates stay until the last person tries out.
