SANCTION: HOST CLUB: FACILITIES: ELIGIBILITY: This meet is sanctioned by USA Swimming and Indiana Swimming. Sanction number IN09126. Boilermaker Aquatics (BA) Boilermaker Aquatic Center, Purdue University, 355 N. Martin Jischke Drive (formerly Intramural Drive), West Lafayette, IN 47907. It is a 25 yard eight lane pool with non-turbulent lane lines; a Daktronics 2000 automatic timing system with touch pads, backup buttons and watches; a continuous warm-up area; and spectator seating in the bleachers. Concessions are available for all sessions. This is a no smoking facility. As guests of the university, we would like to remind all participants and spectators to leave a clean facility at the end of the meet. Current USA Swimming and Indiana Swimming rules will govern this meet. USA Swimming Rules 202.3.2 At a sanctioned competitive event, USA Swimming athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee shall assist the athlete in making arrangements for such supervision. Swimmers must be registered with USA Swimming to be accepted into this meet. Age as of January 30, 2009 shall determine the swimmer s age for the entire meet. Coaches MUST constantly display their current USA Swimming coach credential to gain deck access. The meet referee reserves the right to ask for coach credential display and/or deny deck access if coach does not comply or card is no longer valid/current. FORMAT: All events will be conducted as Timed Finals. No Times (NT) entries are allowed. Eight and Under swimmers will have marshals to assist them to their lanes. All the events will be swum without breaks. Please enter events accordingly. CHECK-IN: FORMAT: A positive check-in procedure will be used. Swimmers must sign in no later than 40 minutes prior to the start of each session. Any swimmer not checked-in 40 minutes prior to the start of the session will be scratched from that session. Once a swimmer has been scratched, they will be allowed to swim only if the event has empty lane(s) available in the first heat. Additional heats will not be added. Seeded heat sheets, with the scratched swimmers removed, will be printed and given to the coaches of each team. A copy will also be posted on the pool walls. The marshals for Eight and Under swimmers will also have copies. Boilermaker Aquatics reserves the right to limit the number of entries and any event to achieve a reasonable timeline. Boilermaker Aquatics also reserves the right to add BA swimmers with times slower than the cut-off. No team will be broken if entry limits are applied. The Meet Entry Chairperson or Meet Director will notify all accepted teams of any limited events and refunds will be given for any events not swum due to entry limits Swimmers must provide their own timers and counters for the distance events. The 1000 freestyle will be limited to three heats: one female, one male, and one co-ed. All 12 and under swimmers participating in a meet sanctioned by the Indiana LSC must comply with the new swimwear rules passed into legislation by the 2008 Indiana Swimming House of Delegates. This legislation modifies USA Swimming rule 102.9.1 as follows: A. Swim suits worn by 12 and under males participating in all Indiana Swimming sanctioned age group competitions will not extend above the navel or below the knees. B. Swim suits worn by 12 and under females participating in all Indiana Swimming sanctioned age group competitions will not cover the neck, extend past the shoulders; extend beyond the shoulder, nor below the pelvis. C. Swimsuits worn for competition must be non-transparent and conform to the current concept of appropriate. D. The referee shall have the authority to bar offenders from the competition until they comply with the rule. Entries will be accepted starting Monday, December 15, 2008. Entry deadline will be Friday, January 9, 2009, at 8:00pm. Teams will be notified by Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 8:00 pm if their entry was not accepted. We will extend the deadline if the meet is not full. Entries received after Friday, January 9, 2009 will be considered deck entries even if they appear in the psych sheets. If, in the judgment of the Meet Director, they do not delay the conduct of the meet, deck entries will be accepted. Deck entry fees are payable immediately. Deck entries of NEW swimmers to the meet will be accepted only if the entering swimmer can provide a current USA Swimming membership card to the host. No times will be used for all deck entries whether or not times are provided at check-in. A hospitality area will be available for coaches and officials only. A complete daily menu of concessions will be available on all the days of the meet.
