Self Defense Seminar Stump speech: 5min Anyone has the possibility of being attacked. Crime doesn t discriminate between race, sex, or social class. We shouldn t be negligent to that possibility, but rather look for ways to increase our safety and survival. Hello everyone my name is Master Alfaro, I m the Chief Instructor of the Warrior Krav Maga and Kickboxing Center, (introduce others) today we will be covering prevention tactics and dynamic responses to violent attacks. Now, real life combat is violent and evolves rapidly, so to succeed at it you must be willing to respond at that same level and adapt to the changing dynamics. Throughout today s training I want you to assume you find yourself in the worst possible scenario, where you re left with only two options: do something and increase your chances of surviving the violent confrontation or do nothing and end up becoming a victim. Let s get started! Warm up: 5min rotations, knee touches, shoulder touches, knee/shoulder touches Lecture: Assault Time Line 5min 1) Pre conflict: prevent vulnerability (being overpowered) and accessibility (being able to get to) by creating barriers (physical, visual, and situational) and being aware (conscious of surroundings and people in it, you understand the world is a potentially dangerous place and you are prepared to defend yourself if necessary) Avoid any confrontation whenever possible: the fight you always win is the one you were never in. Almost all attacks are avoidable if you do not become complacent to your surroundings. 2) Pre contact: early identification of an attack- create space or use a pre-emptive strike 3) Contact: address the immediate danger, violently counter attack, and evacuate the danger zone 4) Post conflict: field check for injuries, report to the proper authorities, and deal with the residual effects of stress with rest Combatives 30min Ballistic attacks used to neutralize the threat. Technical by count 10x each side and Impact on pads in line drill / have a female student demonstrate with full power and aggressively 1) Palm strikes (4 alternating on pad) 2) Elbows (3 same side on pad) 3) Knees (3 same side on pad) 4) Front kick from ground (3 alternating) Lecture: Warrior Mindset 5min You must have the will to engage the opposition without stopping even if you are hurt. Only with a killer instinct will an individual have a fighting chance at escaping and winning a violent encounter. If an individual doesn t possess the proper mindset for combat, then the sudden shock of being attacked will mitigate any skills and he/she will freeze. To harness this instinct, turn fear into anger and aggression and then focus this rage against the attacker until the threat is neutralized. Self Defense 40min- An attack has been initiated towards you and puts you in a position of disadvantage. Divide into 4 groups 12min each and rotate Bear hug from rear arms trapped / Escape from mount Gun from front redirect up / close contact shooting Knife at throat from rear / attack sequence #3 Aggressiveness Drill 20min- Duck tape: attack the pad standing, kneeling, on the ground 1min (switch on cue) everyone gets taped and divide up to top and bottom floor- 5 instructor pad holders per floor Closing remarks 5min: Thank you ladies for your hard work, all of you did a fantastic job and we appreciate you. We want you to continue training with us and learning more about self defense and fitness. Our memberships are on our app as well as our schedule. Now, the first 10 ladies to sign up, will receive a starter package, which is a value of $150 (show bag and gear) at no additional cost, this will include everything you need to begin your training.
