2019 Rules and Regulations These Rules and Regulations for Lake Barrington Shores (the Club ) are intended to guide the use of the club facilities referred to in the Membership Program. These Rules and Regulations are established by the Club to protect Club Facilities and to promote the health, safety, welfare and enjoyment of the members, their families, their guests, and the surrounding community. The Club is committed to providing an enjoyable experience. The Club may amend these Rules and Regulations from time to time as it determines appropriate in its sole discretion. GENERAL CLUB RULES 1. Members, their families and their guests shall abide by all Rules & Regulations of the Club as may be amended from time to time. Should the member be a minor under 18 years of age, his or her parent or guardian must co-sign the application form. 2. The Rules of Golf as adopted by USGA together with the Rules of Etiquette as adopted by the USGA shall be the rules of the Club except when in conflict of local rules. 3. The Club Facilities shall be open on the days and during the hours established by the Club. Areas of the Club may be closed for scheduled maintenance and repairs. The Club reserves the right to close or restrict use of the Club Facilities to hold promotional events, tournaments, and private events. The Club also has the right to close the course due to weather or poor course conditions. 4. The Club has the right to revise green and other fees for holidays, special club events and event fees. 5. Members participating in an outing or private event must pay the posted greens fee for the outing. Membership does not apply to and during outings or other times when the Club is otherwise closed. 6. Organized groups activities on the golf course or in the clubhouse facilities will be permitted only with the prior written permission of the Club. 7. Alcoholic beverages will not be served or sold, nor permitted to be consumed, at the Club in any manner prohibited by law. The Club reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse service to a Member or guest when that Member or Guest appears to be intoxicated. No Member may leave the property with alcoholic beverages purchased at the Club. 8. The Club must furnish all Food & Beverage consumed on the Club Facilities unless otherwise permitted in writing. 9. Commercial Advertisements shall not be posted or circulated in the Club nor shall solicitations of any kind be made on the Club Facilities or upon Club Stationary without approval from the Club. 10. Members shall not use the roster or list of Members of the Club for solicitation or commercial purposes. 11. Members should not request special personal services from employees of the Club who are on duty or the personal use of the Club s furnishings or equipment, which are not ordinarily available for the use of Members. 12. Dogs or other pets (with the expectation of Seeing Eye Dog) are not permitted on the property or in the Club Facilities, except with the permission of the Club. Where dogs are permitted on the grounds, they must be leashed at all times. Members are responsible for damage caused by an animal owned by the Member or under the Member s control. Page 4 of 9

13. Any complaints, criticisms, or suggestions of any kind relating to any of the operations of the Club or its employees must be in writing, signed and addressed to the Club Manager. 14. Members and their guests may not abuse any of the Club s employees verbally or otherwise. All service employees of the Club are under the supervision of the Club Manager and no Member or guest shall reprimand or discipline any employee, nor shall a Member request an employee to leave the Club for any reason. 15. Smoking is permitted only in designated Club areas. 16. No fireworks are permitted anywhere on the Club property or adjacent areas unless part of a firework exhibit organized by the Club. 17. Firearms and all other weapons of any kind are not permitted on Club property at any time. 18. The Club may restrict use of the Club Facilities from time to time. 19. Violation of any of these rules or conduct in a manner prejudicial to the best interests of the Club will subject the person in violation to disciplinary action by the Club in accordance with the Rules & Regulations. 20. The personnel of the Club will have full authority to enforce these Rules & Regulations and any infractions will be reported to Club management. 21. In no event shall the Club discriminate against any individual because of the individual s race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or marital status. DISCIPLINE 1. Members are responsible for their own conduct and for the conduct of their guests and family members. Any Member whose conduct or whose guest s conduct shall be deemed by the Club to be likely to endanger the welfare, safety, harmony or good reputation of the Club or it Members or is otherwise considered improper, may be reprimanded, fined, suspended, or expelled from the Club and have all privileges associated with the Membership suspended or terminated from the Club. The Club shall be the sole judge of what constitutes improper conduct, but improper conduct will include, without limitation: submitting false information on the Membership, allowing his or her Membership to be used by another person, failing to abide by the Rules and Regulations as set fourth herein and as established by the Club from time to time, abusing the Club s employees, acting in a manner incompatible with the standard conduct of the existing Membership or which would likely injure the reputation of the Members of the Club. 2. The Club may without notice suspend some or all privileges associated with a Membership. 3. In the event the Club terminates a Membership or suspends playing privileges, no refund will be processed. LOSS OR DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY OR INSTANCES OF PERSONAL INJURY 1. Every Member of the Club shall be liable for any property damage caused by the Member, their guests or family members. The cost of such damage shall be charged to the Member s account. 2. No person shall remove from the room in which it is placed or from where the Club s premises any property or furniture belonging to the Club without written authorization. 3. Each Member as a condition of Membership and each guest as a condition of invitation to the Club Facilities assume sole responsibility for his or her property. The Club shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to private property used or stored on Club Facilities, whether in lockers, or elsewhere. Any such personal property which may have been left in or on the facilities for one month or more may be properly disposed of. Page 5 of 9

GENERAL GOLF RULES 1. The Rules of Golf as adopted by the USGA together with the Rules and Etiquette as adopted by the USGA shall be the rules of the Club, except when in conflict with local rules or with any rules herein. 2. All players must register in the golf shop and anyone found on premises when not permitted will be disciplined in accordance with the Rules & Regulations or in accordance with the law. 3. Speed of Play: It is the goal of all players to complete their round in less than four and a half hours. This amount of time is more than adequate, provided all players remain aware of their rights of others to play without delay. It is the responsibility of each to keep pace with the group in front of them. The Ranger has the authority to keep play moving at the proper pace for all players enjoyment and to reposition players or remove them from the course if they are unable to keep proper pace. 4. All players who stop after playing nine holes for any reason must occupy the next tee before the following players arrive at the tee or they shall lose their position. 5. Cutting In: Once on the course, cutting in is not allowed. 6. All tournament play must be approved in advance, in writing, by the Golf Professional. 7. All Members are to pay fees associated with an outing if they attend and play in the outing. 8. Repair all ball marks on the green. 9. Repair all divots. 10. Searching for a ball other than those played by members of your group is not allowed at any time. 11. Each player must have his or her own set of golf clubs. 12. No beverage coolers are permitted on the course unless provided by the Club. 13. No food or beverages are permitted on the course unless provided by the Club. 14. Groups of five players or more shall only be permitted when given permission by the Head Golf Professional. 15. Radios and other audible music devices are permitted on the golf course but must be set to a volume that does not disturb residents, players or others around. 16. Practice is not allowed on the golf course. The practice facilities should be used for all practice. PROPER GOLF ATTIRE 1. Men: Shirts with collars and sleeves, slacks or Bermuda shorts no more than two inches above the knee are considered appropriate attire. Tank tops, tee shirts, mesh shirts, sweat pants, warm up suits not intended for golf, blue jeans, work jeans, swimwear, short shorts, cut offs, gym shorts, or any other athletic shorts are not permitted on the golf course. 2. Women: Dresses, skirts, slacks, mid length shorts, blouses are considered appropriate attire. Halter-Tops, tee shirts, cut offs, sweat pants, blue jeans, swim wear, and athletic shorts are not permitted on the golf course. 3. Shoes: Appropriate golf shoes are required for all golfers. Football or Soccer or any spikes larger are not permitted on the golf course. Tennis Shoes and other soft sole shoes are subject to the approval by the Golf Professional on duty. 4. The dress code is mandatory for all players. Improperly dressed golfers shall be asked to change before playing. If you are in doubt concerning your attire, please check in with the golf shop personnel before starting play. Page 6 of 9

HOURS OF PLAY 1. The hours of play and golf shop shall be posted in the golf shop. The golf shop staff in consultation with the golf course superintendent shall determine when the golf course is available for play. GOLF STARTING TIMES 1. All players must have a starting time reserved through the golf shop. 2. Starting times may be made by calling the Pro Shop or scheduling in person. 3. Starting time changes must be approved by the Golf Shop. 4. Members must notify the Golf Shop of any cancellation as soon as possible. 5. Players who fail to cancel their starting time one hour prior to their schedule scheduled starting time may lose advance reservation privileges. 6. Players who No Show after three times will be charged for each No Show. 7. Walk-In s are permitted, but will be based on the availability of tee times. There is not guarantee that there will be availability to play. REGISTRATION 1. All Members and their guests must register with the golf shop before beginning play. 2. Failure to check in and register ten minutes prior to a reserved starting time may result in assignment of another starting time or cancellation. 3. Member must provide adequate identification (i.e. Member ID Card, Driver s License, State ID, school ID, etc.) as requested at all times and the Club reserves the right to restrict play or other member benefits if identification is not provided. PRACTICE FACILITIES 1. The practice facilities are open during normal operating hours as posted in the golf shop. The practice facilities may be closed for general maintenance or at the Club s discretion (i.e. due to weather or poor grounds conditions). 2. Practice balls are for use of the practice range only and may not be used on the golf course. 3. Practice balls must be hit from designated areas. 4. Golf carts may only be parked in designated areas. 5. Lessons by unauthorized professionals are prohibited. 6. Proper golf attire is required at all times while using the practice facilities. GENERAL GOLF CART RULES 1. Golf carts may only be used on the golf course when the course is open for play and must be operated in accordance with any applicable rules regarding safety and or restrictions due to weather or course conditions. 2. Golf carts shall not be used by a Member or their guest on the Club Facilities without proper assignment and registration in the golf shop. Page 7 of 9

3. Golf Carts may only be operated by persons at least 18 years of age. They must also have a valid drivers license. 4. Privately owned golf carts are not permitted. 5. Obey all golf cart traffic and daily condition signs. 6. Always use golf cart paths where provided. Observe 90-degree rule at times designated by the Club. 7. Only two persons and two sets of golf clubs are permitted per golf cart. 8. Operation of a golf cart is at the risk of the operator. Persons who are legally intoxicated or appear to be so may not operate a golf cart. Cost of repair to a golf cart which is damaged by the Member or Member s guest or family member shall be charged to the appropriate person or persons. 9. Violations of golf cart rules may result in loss of golf and or playing privileges. GOLF COURSE ETIQUETTE 1. The time required to hole out on and around the putting green is a chief cause of slow play. Study the line of your putt while others are doing the same. Be ready to putt when it is your turn. Play ready golf. 2. Do not waste time. Anticipate the club or clubs you may need and go directly to your ball. Always be near your ball to play promptly when it is your turn. 3. If you are holding your place on the course, allow players behind you to play through. 4. When approaching a green, park your cart on the path on the best direct line to the next tee. Never leave the golf car in the front of the green where you have to retrace your steps. 5. Please respect the efforts and directions of the Ranger to insure the proper pace of play. The Ranger will report slow play and all breaches of golf etiquette to the golf shop. 6. When driving a golf cart, the golf cart must stay on the cart paths when they are around tees and greens. CLUB BILLING 1. Members must place a credit card on file and may charge any golf, food and beverage, service, merchandise, and other purchases to the card on file. All purchases must be paid for when rendered. 2. Members will be held responsible for ensuring the credit card information on file is up to date at all times. 3. All charges for purchases and services at the Club not otherwise charged to the credit card on file shall be charged to the Member s Club account. 4. Members should sign off on all receipts for purchases to help identify errors and ensure all charges are approved. 5. A minimum 15% gratuity will be applied any food & beverage purchases using a Membership account. A minimum 18% gratuity will be applied to any private event purchases. 6. Any disputes to charges should be brought immediately to the attention of LBS staff so that corrections or adjustments can be made in a timely manner. 7. A 10% service charge will be applied for all reciprocal billings. 8. The Club reserves the right to adjust rates, fees and prices at any time. 9. Any outstanding amounts will be billed to the member should they become past due over 30 days with a service charge of 10% of the outstanding amounts per month. Page 8 of 9

10. If the Member is past due over a 60 day period or does not otherwise follow Club Billing rules, the Member may have their payment privileges or membership suspended or terminated. Disciplinary rules apply. PERMANENT TEE TIMES 1. All paperwork must be turned in to the Director of Golf. 2. Tee Times must be approved by the Director of Golf. 3. Each group must designate a Captain. 4. Each group must adhere to the No Show Policy outlined below. The Club will enforce this policy and reserves the right to remove permanent tee time privileges without refund for breach of policy. 5. Each group must check in 30 minutes before your scheduled tee time. 6. All fees must be paid before March 15 th, 2019 NO SHOW POLICY 1. Each Permanent Tee Time group will be expected to give at least a seven day notice if the group will not be able to play. 2.
