President s Page Nice to be held in such high regard by the opposition! The only positive I can give you out of the result of the seniors match is Rowville are claiming it as one of the biggest wins in the clubs history (nice to be highly regarded). Graham Reynolds So it was left to our Under 19s and Ressies who both got up on the day. Well done. The next two rounds we are on home turf. This week we are up against ladder leaders Balwyn then South Croydon the following week. This is a big opportunity to show the strength in numbers of our members and supporters and give the teams all the support possible as we move toward the business end of the season. On the social side of things, tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Players Ball. The theme for this year is fairy tales! I'm sure this will definitely favour the brave when it comes to choice of costume. It will be a huge night and is Marcus Hottes great value for money as we also have one of Australia's funniest performers on stage Mr Peter Dee to entertain and delight as you tuck into your 2 course meal and dance away your worries. Book your tables NOW and make it a SELL-OUT! I almost forgot. Congratulations to Marcus Hottes on winning Radio Eastern 98.1 player of the day award. A great effort in a losing team. Well done Marcus. Go Falcons. Graham Reynolds El Presidente! Page 2

Seniors Round 10 Q I Q 2 Q 3 Q 4 ROWVILLE 3.2 9.5 10.5 15.9.99 LILYDALE 1.1 2.4 5.11 5.15.45 Simon Rourke Coach BEST: Marcus Hottes, Ryan Breese, Grant Hill, Jay Pumpa, Ash Davies GOALS: Ben Weightman, Ash Davies, Billy Gardner, Jay Pumpa, Leigh McCombe Unfortunately today we started very slowly against a fired up Rowville who were playing to keep their finals hopes alive. We played unaccountable footy in the first half and conversely offered very little in attack and the scoreboard reflected this at half-time. Our performance lifted in the 3 rd quarter and whilst we restricted them to one goal we could only muster 3 goals 7 behinds to give us a slim hope at the final break. In a worrying trend our last quarter was once again disappointing and we could not conjure a goal whilst conceding some late junk time goals to the opposition. GOALS: Tom Van Veen 4, Daniel Baldwin 2, Ben Stephens, Lucas Skelton, Ross Ansaldi, Tom Herbert and James Munro 1 each. After a sluggish first quarter, in which Rowville got a handy lead, the boys pegged them back quarter by quarter, to eventually run out 10 point winners in a very gutsy win. The pleasing thing from a coaching point of view is that the boys are playing as a team and following the game plan. Well done. MATCH GOALS: Jack Leithhead 2, Sam Morton 2, Bradley Lowe, Lachlan Koger, Dayne Hammacher, Brayden Schembri and Patrick Ashton 1 each. We never looked like losing this game. Our pressure from the start of the game to the end was very pleasing. Everyone played their role in a great win. NO GAME NEXT WEEK. Junior Club Report With President Peter Koger some great RESULTS! We had some great results with the under 11s,12s,13s,14s,15s and both the under 17s having solid wins this weekend. The under 9s and 10s only lost by a couple of goals and overall we had a successful weekend on the ground. A big thank you to everyone that attended the awards night and thankyou to Mandy Dolman for organising the meals, and the parents from the under 14s and 15s for making the night a great success. Speaking of success we held the Office Works BBQ on Saturday and although the location isn t as busy as Bunnings we still made $400. Once again Mandy and a few dedicated helpers gave up their time for this event. Don t forget we have the coaches and team managers night at the Warrandyte Grand Hotel on July 6th. Everyone is welcome to come along. It is starting at 7pm. You can come down for a drink and for a bit of karaoke if that is what floats your boat; personally I would need plenty of drink before considering karaoke. We would love to see everyone there to say a big thankyou to all the volunteers at the club. All the details are on the App and on page 31 herein. Good luck to everyone this week and a special mention to the under 14s boys who are playing in the Grand Final of the Junior Metropolitan Championships this Saturday. Go Dales. Page 6

The way we won the ball out of the centre, our run and switching of the ball was special to watch at times as everyone was working for the team. We didn t have it all our way in the 3 rd as Vermont started to put more pressure on us and to everyone s credit we got back on top in the last and kicked 7 more goals. We started the game well with our quick hands and precise ball movement across the ground going in at quarter time 25 points up. In the second quarter they locked down on our run and carry and outscored us by 8 points leaving us with a 17 point half time lead. In the second half we had to work hard to maintain our lead and to all the boys credit that's what we did grinding out a 24 point win. We now need to start playing 4 quarters of footy and not 2. The second quarter saw us begin to get on top with the boys starting to use the ball better on the big ground. After half time the boys really dominated kicking 9 goals to 1 in what would be one of our best team efforts for the season with good contributions across the whole team. Well done to Robo on playing his 50th game and kicking 3 goals. A big game at home next week against UFTG we need to beat someone above us on the ladder. With our focus to win the contested footy over the past month continuing, you can actually see the confidence starting to grow in the boys and real self-belief in the team ability to match it with anyone. I have no doubt that if the boys continue to work hard as they have been at training over the past month that the rewards will keep coming as the season continues. We played four good even quarters with Taylor Reinecke in his 50th game dominant in the ruck giving the on ballers first use all day. Sammy Hodgett was awesome all day, with great support from Nick, Marc, Mitchell B, Joel and Jake. Jenno with the rest of our back line propelled many attacks into the forwards. The best tackle and one percenter of the day went to Kai Martin who chased hard to make up ground and win the ball back for us. Pricey had the best vision of the day after bursting out of the backline and didn't just blaze away - good stuff! Our forwards lead by Jack Bates, Josh Uhr-Henry and Kizza were all very good.
