MSC Newsletter www.marcosportfishingclub.com Pete Arcidiacono, President Dedicated to fishing in and around Collier County President s Message December 2010 Lets all remember there is NO general meeting this month. We will have the first holiday party instead. We certainly hope to see you and your spouse or significant other on December 8 th for the party at Porky s. This will not be a wings and beer, but a little more upscale. See the flyer for details. The January meeting program will be presented by Brian Fluech the Collier county extension agent. Brian will update us on the regulations and conditions of the fish population on January 6. We have three fishing days scheduled in December. There is a buddy trip scheduled for December 3. These trips are ideal for captains who have midwater boats and don t venture either far offshore or up in the shallows. The atmosphere is noncompetitive and they are always followed by an evening out with spouses. Joe Perino is in charge. There is an offshore event scheduled for December 16 th with a theme of drift fishing. The backwater event is scheduled for December 10th and will be a captains choice. NO DECEMBER 2ND MEETING *** COME TO THE PARTY DEC 8 Note that due to the absence of a meeting in December, there is no formal sign upyou must call Al Musico or Fred Kouhi. For the backwater trip call Ed Vesely. December 15 th will be our PICNIC day. Dave has cooked up new rules. If you have been to a picnic in 2010, the picnic is free. You must, however, pay in advance and get reimbursed when you show up. If you haven t been to one you pay regular price. This January, in addition our traditional fishing events and fried chicken picnic, we will introduce a new activity Kayak fishing. The first outing date will be announced at the January meeting. Hope to see you all at the holiday party. If I don t,have a wonderful holiday season and get ready to fish em hard in 2011. See ya at the bait shop. Pete

DUES FORM FOR 2011 The new dues form is enclosed and includes a statement on the back waiving any legal action against the club and its members. The purpose is to protect those that volunteer their boats and the club in general from getting sued. We hope this will increase participation. Because we are a family club, both spouses must sign. The Marco Rectangle Thirteen boats and 41 Anglers signed up to participate in our first mini Offshore Tournament, targeting Grouper. The Marco Rectangle encompasses more than 125 square miles of prime fishing area, no more than 17 miles from shore. The objective of defining boundaries was to enhance competition and give all boats, big and small, an equal opportunity to catch fish. Weather postponed the tournament, but in the final analysis here are the results: Boat prizes: Most grouper caught (total inches per angler) 1. Contender Mike- Capt. Mike Mueller--- 627.6 inches per angler 2. Therapy - Capt. Chris Edgar--- 491 inches per angler 3. Fiat II - Capt. Mike Assaf--- 439.7 inches per angler 4.
