A Message from the President Mike McNeily Gears are in motion and people are getting ready for the summer! We are so happy to say that plans are in full swing for the Street Dance, Farmer s Market and Car Show already. Mark your calendars and stay in touch so you can keep informed for upcoming events, and for your businesses, a great way to network and meet new customers. Also as a reminder, for our monthly lunches and after-hours. If you are interested in hosting or maybe co-hosting if you don't have the space, please let me know. It is a great way to show off your business or organization. On a typical month you can plan on between 20-30 participants. However, we are asking for RSVPs now so you can plan accordingly. This summer we have a lot of great events. Please consider coming out to at least one and help out, its fun and a great outreach activity to get out of the office and meet some new people. Take care, Mike McNeily Edward Jones Investments Chamber President CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to our President and his wife Mike and Caitlin McNeily on the birth of their daughter Anne Louise McNeily on Thursday, March 15. She was born at 11:24 am, weighed in at 7 lbs 2 oz and was 20.5 inches long. Her big brother, Matt (2), is very into his little sister. He is generous with hugs and kisses so far FARMERS MARKET The Farmers Market is trying something new this year, they are offering Chamber members sponsorship opportunities for the 2012 season. Sponsoring the Market is a great way to demonstrate your support for a wonderful community asset. The Farmers Market is held every Saturday from June thru October for a total of 22 markets each year. There are 3 levels of sponsorship offered. Look for the letter from the committee in the mail, if you haven t already received it, and check out the opportunities they are offering. See you at the Market in June. 60 TO WIN Summer is right around the corner. That means 60 to Win will be starting up. We are asking for your help with this major fundraiser for the Chamber. This is the year that we would like to have a sell-out of the 1,100 tickets. In order to sell out, more Chamber member ticket sellers are needed. Last year we were within 87 tickets of being sold out. If you would like to commit to selling 20 tickets, please call Ellen Frantzen at 708-485-7042 to volunteer. It is not as easy as it sounds, but it is a lot of fun. There will be a kick-off party in June to consign tickets to sellers. No mailings will go out until after the 4th of July so all ticket sellers will have the first chance to sell tickets. Thank you for considering to be a part of this major fundraiser for the Chamber. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Ellen Frantzen & Jerry Dobes 2

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT Melissa West 2434 Burr Oak Avenue North Riverside, Illinois 60546 (708) 268-6812 Premier Designs is a direct sales jewelry company founded in 1985 by Joan and Andy Horner in Dallas, Texas. We are a company founded on Biblical Principles and our purpose is to enrich every life we touch. From day one, Joan and Andy's four reasons for starting Premier Designs were to create the opportunity for mothers to be able to stay home more with their children, provide encouragement and extra income for single moms, provide a way for individuals to meet their financial needs, and be a company that would support ministries around the world and in America. Premier Designs puts their money into their representatives and hostesses, instead of advertisement. It is these components that make me so proud and honored to be a part of such an amazing company. I started my Premier Designs business in August 2010 as an extremely part-time job. At the time I was working at a full-time corporate preschool/daycare facility. I honestly started Premier because I thought it would be fun, and I loved the jewelry. In three months I was making the same amount working my business 1-2 nights a week as I was working my full-time job! This is when I decided it was time to start doing my Premier business on a full-time basis. I currently work from my apartment in North Riverside, where I do the majority of my events and meetings for my business. I live with my wonderfully supportive boyfriend Chris, who I like to call my errands guy for Premier, and my two cats. I think my favorite part about working my Premier business is that I get paid to help woman. Whether it s with a piece of jewelry that they get a complement on, or creating a fun experience for them and their friends, or helping them start their own business, I always try to work with a servant s heart. Plus, I get to give away a ton of free jewelry in the process with Premier s generous Hostess Plan. I may not have a storefront, but the best part about jewelry is that you can wear it! So I can advertise anywhere and at anytime, which is such great way to start up a conversation and meet new people. Premier offers a line of more than 700 beautiful and affordable fashion jewelry items, with something to appeal to every customer's sense of style and budget. We get a new jewelry line every 6 months. 95% of our jewelry is made here in the United States, and we have a guarantee on our product as well. Most of our jewelry is what I like to call multi-functional, and can be worn a variety of different ways. I love to demonstrate this because most women are in awe at how many ways you can wear one piece. To find out more about our product, how you can get it for free, or more about the business opportunity, give me a call at 708-268-6812, email me at Melwest25@gmail.com, or you can attend one of my upcoming meetings or events. Street Dance We have held one meeting so far for the Street Dance committee and have accomplished quite a bit. We have already made the arrangements for the tents and tables and chairs, the music, the beer and other beverages, and many of the little things that make the Street Dance such a great event. The Street Dance will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 5-11 pm on Broadway at Maple, the same as last year. We are still looking for vendors so if you are interested in being a vendor, contact Joanne D Altorio, Street Dance Chairperson, at (708) 710-2724 and let her know. We are also looking for volunteers to help out before, during and after the event. If you have a couple of hours that you can help out we can use you. Contact Keli Hardtke at 708-853- 1688 and mention that you would like to volunteer for the Street Dance. The earlier you call, the better the choice of hours to work. 6
