Change of Events : The organizers, due to any unforeseen circumstances beyond their control, reserve the right to make changes in the schedule/competitions. Entry Fees : SINGLE EVENTS OMR 3.00 per Event GROUP EVENTS OMR 10.00 per Event Notes: 1) Children are encouraged to make teams from same school to take advantage of the points at School level. 2) In case of insufficient entries in any category, participants will be automatically considered into next upper category. 3) School scoring maximum points will be awarded with rolling trophy. 4) Trophies / prizes and certificates for the winners will be distributed on the venue of youth festival 2018. 5) Trophies / prizes and certificate for Kalaprathiba, Kalathilakam and Sargaprathiba will be distributed during KERALOSTHSAVAM 2019 which will be conducted in March 2019. 6) Selected wining items will be given a chance to stage their performances on KERALOSTHSAVAM 2019. 6) Also, please see General Guide Lines for further clarifications. Timings &Queries : All participants are required to be present at the respective venue at least 30 minutes prior to the competition, to collect token/chest numbers. Delay in reporting leads to disqualification. Definition : Indians : Individuals born to parents of Indian Origin. Age Group: Age as on 31.12.2018 will be considered for determining the age group. (Please ascertain age group for each event from Schedule Events appearing on next page). These are defined further as follows: Sub-Juniors (<10) : Date of Birth from 01.01.2009 onwards Junior (10-14) : Date of Birth from 01.01.2005 to 31.12.2008. Seniors (14-18) : Date of Birth from 01.01.2000 to 31.12.2004. Open Category (>18) : Date of Birth on or before 31.12.1999. Photocopy of relevant page/s of the passport showing name, date of birth and resident visa details, may please be attached to the application (Should there be a need, original document might be called for). Without above the entry forms will be rejected. The last date of submission of application forms, together with attachments and fees will be 5.00 pm on 15.11.2016. The duly filled application forms can be submitted to the above centers. In case if required (as a special case), registration can be made on line by sending scanned copies of entry forms and other documents to email id: sms@soharmalayalisangham.com and payment should be made at the time of reporting.
The CD/DVD for the performance should contain only the audio track for the performance written in it. (I.e. it should not contain other tracks of audio in it). Participants are advised to keep a backup CD/DVD ready to meet any emergency. Minimum Entries : Four (4) entries are required to conduct any event. However, in the event of insufficient entries in any age group, he or she will be included in the next higher age group. At any case event will be conducted after finalization and scheduling even if some participants are not present during the competition and the prizes will be given based on the finalized number of participants. Maximum Participation : Participants can participate in maximum of 8 events apart from group items. Team Entries : The number of participants for each team event is indicated in the schedule. Name of all participants together with relevant documents (age proof etc.) pertaining to each of them must be provided along with the application form, without which the entry will not be accepted. Prizes / Certificates : For events where there are six (6) or more participants / teams, prizes and certificates will be awarded for the Frist, Second and Third places. Only Frist and Second prize together with certificates are awarded for events where there are only 4 to 5 participants / teams. Only Frist prize will be given to the event where there are only three or less participants / teams. Supporting artistes handling instruments shall not be awarded any prize / certificate. Competition Rules : All the competitions are governed by the guide line set and approved by Sohar Malayali Sangham. However, the decision regarding the results of each event is vested with the respective judges. Judges for Competition: Competent judges from India in the respective field will be judging the competition. A CD/DVD (labeled with participation code number) consisting of the song for the Competition should be handed over to the event organizer 30 minutes before the competition. (Note: The CD/DVD should contain only the song for the performance in it. Keep a backup CD/DVD as well). Judgement criteria (Out of 50 marks): Costume, Music, Natya, Nrittya & Abhinaya. 5 Group Dance (Special age group) Maximum age limit 18 yrs (DOB 01.01.1999onwards) 6 Semi Classical Group Dance Two Special age groups (< 18, 18 and above) 7 Thiruvathirakali- Traditional Two Special age groups (< 18, 18 and above ) 8 Light Music - Solo (Film/Album songs not allowed) Remarks : Any Language. Minimum 7 &Maximum 10 in a group. (Film/Album songs not allowed). The theme, costumes and make-up should be appropriate for the dance style and competitions in the country of residence.
