APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion to approve the Agenda as revised; Lilia Brito (Family of Colors Club); Second: Anderson L. Morales (Spanish Language Club). Approved unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES There were no Minutes for this meeting. PUBLIC FORUM Public Forum is any event/information not related to the clubs. Clara Avila: She announced that there is going to be A One-Woman Show; Oh Yes She Did! It is going to be on Wednesday, April 24 th from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Phillips Hall here on campus. It is free and it s a celebration for the year of the book. Come and support. Justine Cathey: She announced that on May 17 th is the ASG/ICC Banquet and she needs to form a committee. If anyone is interested in joining it, to please sign the sheet that will be passed around. She also mentioned that the applications for the ASG Student Leadership Awards are due tomorrow at noon. Turn them in at the Student Life Office. Vanessa Rodas: She announced that on April 27 th there is going to be an Anti- Violence and Anti-Bullying Event. They are looking for volunteers to help out. It is going to be at Century High School. Motion to go back to Public Forum (End of Meeting): Lilia Brito (Family of Colors Club). Second: Brayan Osorio (Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Club). Approved unanimously. Cynthia Strickler - President of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society; Martin Zapien- PTK: They came back from their conference and wanted to share their experience with the ICC. They mentioned that there was a famous tennis player as a guest speaker. The conference was very inspirational and successful. There were about 50 different universities present at the conference. Overall they said it was a great experience for all of those who attended. REPORTS Executive Reports Vice President (Chair) Gabriel Gonzalez: He mentioned that the ASG/ICC Banquet Committee is looking for members.the meeting times will be announced later. The SAC Accreditation committee will be working with faculty to make to make sure that SAC is up to state educational standards and there might be a possibility monetary compensation. If anyone is interested in joining any of those committees you can speak to Vice-president Gonzalez after the meeting. He concluded his reports by mentioning that Monica Zembrano is the new ASG President. She will be holding the position for the rest of this semester. 2

REPORTS Executive Reports (Cont.) Public Relations Representative Ana Loeza: No Report Secretary - Mayra Villagomez: No Report Club Reports Additional clubs that were present did not have club reports for this meeting. Circle K Club: They announced that Key to College is on Saturday, April 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Family of Colors: They are meeting at 3:30 today. Anyone is welcome to come. Book Club: They announced that on May 7th there will be a screening Into the Wild. They are going to have a fieldtrip on May 10th to L.A. to the Last BookStore. Fashion Club: They announced that they will be having a fashion show on May 18th from 2-4. It is going to be at the Yost Theater and the general admission is going to be $10. Equalogy: They had a Rock &Roll Camp on April 11th. The instruments were provided to those who wanted to learn. They are hosting another Rock and Roll Camp today and on May 2nd and 9th from 2-5 pm in room G-106. They also mentioned that they made a good profit at the ICC Spring Fest. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society : They mentioned that on June 1st & 2nd is the Relay for Life in Santa Ana and it is going to be at Valley High School. It is a 24 hour Walkathon. It is $10 to join a team plus any other amount that people want to donate. Their team name is called Alpha Beta Cancer Stompers and their goal is to hit $500 in donations. If you are interested in being part of the walkathon, you can register at www.relayforlife.com The Philosophy Dons: They mentioned that they had a great meeting on Wednesday. They meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 2:00-3:30 pm in D-106. Spanish Language Club : They will be having a conversation table for those students that need help with Spanish on the last two weeks of school. They are working on some events that are coming up in May. They meet every Thursday at 3:00p.m in I-101. Puente Club: They are having their educational planning meeting tomorrow in room A-130 from 12:45 to 1:30 pm. They will be discussing several things. If you are interested you can sign their sign-up sheet to receive more information. They mentioned that ICC Spring Fest was very successful. Veterans Student Association: They set up the GWOT wall. It has all the names of the fallen soldiers from Afghanistan. There is going to be a ceremony on Friday at 12:00 to take down the wall. They have an event called Road Block to Success to meet all the veterans. The focus of this event is on female veterans at this event. C.A.P.E.S. Club : They thanked everyone for participating in a successful sustainable ICC Fest. They hoped that they exposed people to (information to) become environmentally conscious. Their plants were a hit at the ICC Fest and they will continue with planting. IDEAS Club: They wanted to thank everyone who helped out with their event. 3

Committee Reports: Battle of the Bands: Lilia Brito mentioned that for this semester the Battle of the Bands will be postponed. All the planning for this semester is going to continue for next semester. ICC Constitution Revision: Vice-president Gonzalez mentioned that they made the final revisions on the ICC Constitution. They tried to make it clearer and easy to understand. Advisor Report (Linda Morrow): Minutes: She mentioned that there will be two sets of Minutes for the next meeting. Hammond & Northcross Awards: For those students that are graduating, there are thehammond & Northcross Awards. The nominations have to come from faculty or staff members. The deadline to turn the applications is tomorrow. The winners get a $100 award. There will be one man and one woman selected for this these awards. The winners will be announced at graduation. Voting for the candidates will be May 6 th May 10 th in the Student Life Office. ICC Awards: Applications are now available. You can submit an application for your club for club of the year and/or advisor of the year. There are essays required, one for each. The applications are due by tomorrow by noon. Also, there are the ICC Achievement Awards. The applications are also due tomorrow by noon. Everyone is encouraged to apply. The award is $200 and a certificate Also, those selected will be recognized at the ASG/ICC Student Leadership Awards banquet. The banquet is on May 17 th and you will be invited if you re one of the finalists. Club Activities and Events End of Semester: There are no club activities going on during the last two weeks of school. The last day to do on campus activities is May 10 th, and the last day for off-campus activities is May 11 th. If your club wants to have an end of year banquet, you will need to put in a request early, and receive special approval from Student Activities. Club Constitutions/By-Laws: Clubs that are already ratified must turn in their club constitutions and by- laws within two weeks after ratification. If your club/organization has not submitted a club specific constitution and by-laws, you need to turn one in. ICC Spring Fest Review: The Spring Fest went well. Over sixty-one (61) students submitted stamp cards for door prize tickets for the Sustain-A-Palooza event. Thank you all for making this a great event. 4

Advisor Report (Linda Morrow): ICC Spring Fest Paperwork: Paperwork and money is due today. If you have any questions or concerns, please go and see Linda at the Student Life Office. All receipts, money earned, and change from the ICC funds are due by today; tomorrow at the latest. No one should be taking money home. ASG/ICC Student Leadership Banquet: If you are interested in being involved in the banquet planning committee, please let us know. All ICC Reps and Alternate Reps will be invited to the banquet on May 17 th. Also, the club officers and advisors of the Club of the Year and Advisor of the Year finalists will be invited. In addition, the finalists for the ICC Achievement Awards will be invited. ICC Board Candidates List: The list of the names of the ICC Board candidates (for the election) is available. The deadline to turn an application was last Monday. ICC Board Election: The next ICC meeting will be focused on the election. Each candidate will have 3 minutes to give a speech. On that day we will need at least 15 clubs present in order to have the election. Each club gets one vote. Make sure that all the ICC reps come. If your ICC Rep cannot make it, the Alternate Rep, or another officer, should represent your club so your club has a vote. You can nominate someone from the floor, or have them nominate you. All voting is done by secret ballot. Banners: Please submit your banner requests to Linda. If any new club is working on their banners, please hurry up. Otherwise they might have to wait until next semester to order them. She will be ordering the banners, that for the requests that are ready, in about 2 weeks. SAC Publicity Regulations: To conclude her report, Linda talked about SAC Publicity Regulations. Linda handed out a SAC Publicity Regulations form that lists what is allowed, and what is not, regarding publicity on campus. For example; it is consider graffiti if you write on the schools pavement with chalk when you don t have permission. A couple clubs did this recently, unaware that this is against the college regulations.there could be consequences for anyone who writes on the ground with chalk, and we don t want that, so please review the SAC Publicity Regulations and ask for approval for any and all advertisement for your clubs. OLD BUSINESS Club Banners : Please work on them and turn them in as soon as possible. ICC Spring Fest Review : It was a great event. It was a good idea to have another event going on at the same time as the ICC Spring Fest. ASG/ICC Banquet: It is on May 17th. The location is to be determined. ICC Achievement Awards: The applications for this award and for the Club of the Year/ Advisor of the Year are due by April 19 th by noon. ASG Asian/Pacific American Event: It is scheduled to be on May 1 st from 1:00 3:00 pm at the Fountain. Hammond & Northcross: Nominations are due Friday, April 19 th. The voting starts on May 6 th and ends on May 10 th. ICC Election Information: The ICC Board candidates list is now available. There are still some positions available and during the election you can ask someone to nominate you to run for any of the positions 5

NEW BUSINESS Constitution Revisions: The new revised version of ICC Constitution and By-Laws is available for clubs to review. We have to suspend the rules for some articles, only for this election, because if we don t suspend them, we might not have an entire board for next semester. One of the rules is Article 4, Section 2 from the Constitution, stating that No more than one person per club/organization can be on the ICC Executive Board. The other rule is Article 8, Section 2 of the Constitution, which states, A proposed amendment shall be read into the minutes and documented two weeks prior to a vote on that amendment. Miriam Godinez and Armando Sandoval were given the opportunity to speak on their own behalf as candidates for the ICC Board elections. They are both from the Puente Club. Armando mentioned that he does not plan to be involved in the Puente Club next year. Motion to suspend Article 4, Section 2-C from the Constitution for the Election of 2013: Anderson L. Morales (Spanish Language Club); Second: April-Grace Ndwiga. Approved unanimously. Motion to suspend Article 8, Section 2 from the Constitution for the Election of 2013: Lilia Brito (Family of Colors Club). Second: Anderson L. Morales (Spanish Language Club). Approved unanimously. Guest Speaker: Tyler Choi Boys Town Volunteer Coordinator: Mr. Choi spoke about some great programs like In-home Families and Family Support Services that prevent social services from taking kids away from their families. He was here to recruit volunteers to help out with their programs and they need bilingual volunteers. The programs offer great experience if you are majoring in psychology. You can email him or call him if you are interested. ANNOUNCEMENTS ASG/ICC Banquet is on May 17 th (Location is to be determined and the date is subject to change.) ICC Achievement Award applications and Club of the Year/ Advisor of the Year awards applications available as of April 1 st and are due by April 19 th. Next ICC Meeting is on Thursday, April 25 th, 2013. Last ICC Meeting of the semester is on May 16 th. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 2:44 P.M. 6
