for Certificate No.: IECEx TSA 09.004X Issue No.: 1 Equipment description pertaining to Issue 0 of this Certificate: A range of electrical power distribution, control, protection and monitoring equipment that is intended for application to underground coal mining operations and is designated as the AFE00 Series. Detail of the enclosure constructions and the enclosed equipment is described by the manufacturer s design documents. The rating of the enclosed electrical equipment is up to 000 V and up to 150 A. The equipment consists of up to ten types of welded steel plate flameproof enclosures designated as the types AFE01, AFE0, AFE03, AFE04, AFE05, AFE06, AFE07, AFE30, AF E40, AFE90 and AFE47. These types of enclosures differ in their overall dimensions (hence volume) and may be fabricated as separate standalone enclosures or an assembly of enclosures in series sharing internal walls with common top, bottom and rear plates. The enclosure AFE47 is provided for cable protection and situated behind the enclosure. The enclosure AFE47 does not have any terminals and it may produce negligible heat, hence that enclosure is not considered as ex protected enclosure. AFE47 may vary in length depending upon site requirement and numbers of enclosures fed through cables. The enclosures may be fabricated from mild steel (minimum of 50 grade) or stainless steel or a combination of both. Assembly of an enclosure may be mirror imaged to the certification drawings. Access to the interior of an enclosure, or compartment within an enclosure, is via a bolted hinged door or panel. Position of hinges and door openings may vary to suit site requirements. The following are options for the assembly of the equipment: The enclosures, or parts thereof, may be manufactured from mild steel grade 50 or stainless steel of superior grade to mild steel grade 50. Inclusion of any of the certified components to the enclosure as listed in Schedule 1. Inclusion of any of the components that are assessed together with the equipment as listed in Schedule. Addition of a rectangular trunking piece to an end wall of an enclosure may be fitted as per detail in Schedule Provision of electrical and/or mechanical interlocks to doors. Use of nonmetallic components as detailed in Schedule 3. Arrangement of entries to the enclosures in accordance with Schedule 4. Equipment construction and use restrictions in accordance with Schedule 5. Design criteria for enclosure series, and options therein, as detailed in drawings AFE001. Typical electrical circuit diagram is detailed in drawing AFE100, and may vary to suit site/client requirements. Fitting of an Oring gasket on each door, attachment or cover of an enclosure for ingress protection IP66. Provision of vertical panels or horizontal trays for the mounting of internal components, or in the case of large components fitted directly to bottom plate. Provision of threaded blind holes for the attachment of auxiliary items, as shown in drawing AFE 003. Provision of plain blind holes on the outside surfaces for fitment of drive screws, as shown in drawing AFE003. Page 1 of 1

Compound filled body with threaded joint attachment identical to AFC040 Bolted flange joint to blanking plate AFC060 dimensions Note 1. Conversion assemblies refers to a component that adapts varying sizes of flange mountings and essentially consists of two flange plates joined by a short tube section that may be filled with sealing compound. Conversion assemblies are used for mounting configurations. Note. The cable coupling device, typically a receptacle or adaptor, must have a flange interface (mounting pad detail) that provides the same attachment and flamepath provision as the range of blanking plates AFC060. The bushing of any such receptacle or adaptor that completes the enclosure must comply with the requirements of IEC 600790 and IEC 600791 for nonmetallic materials. Items used for test and assessment were coupler devices covered by TestSafe report 8684 applied here according to Ex TAG DS 004/006. National differences for Australia would include the use of receptacles and adaptors complying with the Australian Standards 199 and 1300, but only where these are also IECEx certified as complying with IEC 600790 and IEC 600791. Schedule. Assessment of components, not separately certified, is based on review of test results and assessments contained in TestSafe report 8707. Page of 1
