Section 5: FIREFIGHTING MEASURE Flammability Fire & Explosion Extinguishing Hazchem Code Combustible liquid (C1). Isolate from source of heat, naked flames or sparks. Shut off leaks, if possible without personal risk. Remove all sources of ignition in the surrounding area. Prevent entry into drainage systems, sewers and waterways. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination using sand, earth or other appropriate barriers. Ensure waste disposal conforms to local waste disposal regulations. Empty containers retain vapour and product residue and may therefore, present irritant vapour hazards. For LARGE SPILLS, contain with absorbent pads and/ or booms and inform regulatory authorities immediately.

Precautions for Safe Handling Storage Avoid breathing of, or contact with material. Use in well ventilated areas. Ensure that the workplace is ventilated such that Occupational Exposure limit is not exceeded. Handle open containers in well ventilated areas. Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not eat, drink or smoke in contaminated areas. Before eating, drinking or smoking, remove contaminated clothing and wash hands. Do not empty into drains. Store in a cool, well ventilated area away from heat and ignition sources. Do not store near strong oxidants. Section 8: EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION Exposure Standards Personal Protective Equipment Engineering Controls This product is harmful if it is inhaled. These is no specified time weighted average (TWA) statistic determined exposure for Agg-Coat 20, however, 5mg / m 3 (bitumen fumes) should be used. Respiratory Protection: This product is harmful if inhaled. Respiratory protection should be used if there is a risk of exposure to high vapour concentrations. Respirators should comply with AS1716 or an equivalent approved by a state/ territory authority. Hand Protection: Wear chemical resistant gloves. Eye Protection: Wear chemical goggles or face shield. Protective Clothing: Wear protective clothing as necessary to avoid skin contact. Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not inhale vapours. Use in well ventilated areas. Provide sufficient ventilation to control exposure standards. Use local exhaust ventilation at sources of air contamination such s open process equipment. Dangerous concentrations may exist in areas with poor ventilation such as confined spaces. Avoid heat, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. Strong oxidizing agents. Overheating may cause vaporization and decomposition with the possible production of a hydrogen sulphide gas. Incomplete decomposition will generate smoke and hazardous gases. Section 11: TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION HEALTH EFFECTS Acute Swallowed Eye Skin Inhaled Chronic The liquid is discomforting to the gastro-intestinal tract. Ingestion may result in nausea, abdominal irritation, pain and vomiting. Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/ industrial environments. Toxic if swallowed, greater than 500ml. The liquid is discomforting to the eyes and is capable of causing a mild, temporary redness of the conjunctiva, temporary impairment of vision and/or other transient eye damage/ ulceration. The material maybe harmful to the skin and is capable of causing skin reactions, which may lead to dermatitis from repeated exposures over long periods. The material may accentuate any re-existing skin condition. Bare unprotected skin should not be exposed to this material. Inhalation may cause irritation to the respiratory tract. Exposure to high concentration of the solvent vapour may lead to dizziness, nausea, somnolence and narcoses.
