Dispatches From The Territorial Governor As you can see, Bear Bone and I have switched horses and I will resume serving as your Territorial Governor until I can no longer do an effective job, and yes, I m keeping the watch (it just said 2002-2012, not: retirement or in requiem ),,,,,, Thank you all for your support over the years, I hope to continue to earn it. As you all know, SASS is resurrecting the SASS Convention and Wild West Christmas for December, 2013. Location is still unknown, but believed NOT to be Las Vegas. I promise you that I will attend it wherever it is, to represent you at the Territorial Governors Summit. So far, my suggestions of Honolulu and/or Paris have fallen on deaf ears A QUESTION was brought up recently on the T/G Wire regarding DNFs and SDQs.. We all know that 2 Stage DQs equal a MATCH DQ. The question was brought up about DNFs. Do 2 Stage DNFs also equal a MDQ? NO!,,, what about ONE SDQ and ONE DNF? Still NO! A shooter might have 4,5,6 etc., Stage DNFs, but he/she may continue shooting the match. The confusion may have come up in the match SCORING, later on: Per Palewolf: Shooters with 2 or more DNF's are ineligible for ANY "Main Match" AWARDS,so they should (theoretically) not "place" anywhere on the overall, stage or category lists. If listed among the shooters who 'participated' to some degree, they SHOULD be at the bottom of the list with the MDQs. Also, although the Marauders do NOT use Rank Scoring, if you are at a match where it IS used, their scores should NOT be considered in ranking any of the other shooters on the stages that they DID finish.. THANKS, PW! Another scenario: A shooter finished with the rifle and while moving to next shooting position where rifle is to be made safe, gunbelt breaks and holsters with loaded pistols fall to ground. Pistols never left holster. If you were asked to rule on it, what would be your call? Stage DQ? Match DQ, Minor Safety? No Call? That s RIGHT! NO CALL! p.15 of the ROI, "A holstered revolver (loaded or empty) with the hammer fully down on an empty chamber or expended case is considered safe and may not be interpreted as sweeping another shooter while safely secured in the holster." RIDE SAFE! SWEETWATER
