The date is Saturday, December 8 th, and the location will be the VFW Hall in Rogue River (same as last year). Invitations will be coming to you shortly. This is a great time to meet in an informal setting to visit and renew friendships, as well as having the children (and adults) meet with Santa. Please note also that our December 1 st Match will resume with our original starting time of 10 a.m. Everyone please mark your 2013 calendars for the Merlin Marauder Family Yard Sale. The date has been changed to Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16, 2013, per availability of the JCSA Indoor Range. So start now looking through those closets and barns, for items you no longer need. Remember also, that we have a storage locker available thanks to the generosity of Library Babbage and Family. This fundraiser benefits our club for the acquisition of targets and remodeling and prop projects. A big thank you goes to Library Babbage for updating our Merlin Marauder Web Site. 2013 Annual OR Championship Match information is now available on line if you want to reserve early. Our web address is merlinmaraudercowboys.com. Our Merlin Marauder By-Laws Committee has been hard at work to incorporate proposed changes and additions, and said changes will be going out shortly to the membership for ratification. These changes will benefit our club and help to simplify club procedures, so be sure to respond with your acceptance or suggestions. Our Annual Match Committee for the 2013 OR State Championship Match is already hard at work. Merlin Maverick is sending out bids to representatives of the Young Marines, to solicit brass pickers for the match. He would like to also contact other youth organizations such as 4-H Clubs, Boy Scouts (if allowed to participate in this type of shooting event) and possibly local schools. He needs specific contacts for the above mentioned groups. We will require 24 boys and girls between the ages of 10 and older on Saturday, June 8 th and again on Sunday, June 9 th, 2013. Deadline for submitting contracts will be January 1 st. Contact Merlin Maverick at haha@budget.net or call 541-479-2928. Buffalo BS reports that he had a really good turn-out for the first shooting and instruction session last month, and the Match held after our November 3 rd monthly shoot, brought some of these youngsters out, wearing Merlin Marauder Battle of Rogue River tee-shirts!. These kids (and their parents and 4H leaders) had a fine time and Wes reports that some of the girls are going to become pretty hard to beat.

AS YOU KNOW, THE MARAUDERS WILL HOLD THE 2013 OREGON STATE MATCH Preparations for the match started with the first scheduled Annual Match Meeting which was held at the Black Bear Restaurant on the 23 nd of August. Our Theme for the 2013 Battle of Rogue River will be Outlaws of the Old West, and Doug Curtis, who made the great shooter badges for our 2012 BORR will once again produce the badges, which will reflect the theme. We are thinking Wanted Posters. More on this as Sweetwater discusses the format with Mr. Curtis. Tell your fellow SASS members that, once again, we WILL be giving away over THREE THOUSAND Dollars worth of firearms to lucky shooters in door prize drawings. This year the guns will be: A modern Bersa Thunder 45 ultra compact semi-auto pistol, A Taylor s & Co. Burgess Carbine and a new-inthe box early model Uberti 73 Rifle that has a Pioneer Gun Works action job and all the bells and whistles that Will Shootem could put into it.
